Tyler Houseman failed to get a time in and scratched for the evening. Bob Weuve and Brent Antill also retired before heats could commence.

Johnson led throughout while Jackson moved past Moyle using the low side of a drying track to take a strong second. Less passing has occured in the eight lap heats since the inversion has only been six, taking six to the feature.

Vanderploeg elected to start on the tail, suffering from wheel alignment problems. Reinke was on a rail on the cushion, leaving the field in his wake. Moro's strong run came just short of grabbing fourth from Alley at the line.

Heat three (started): 1. Chad Meyer 1w (3) 2. Garner 40 (4) 3. Giannetto D1 (6) 4. Tim St. Arnold 7w (2) 5. Henderson D11 (5) 6. Ryan Anderson 71R (9) / 7. Kaley Gharst 44G (7) 8. Calvin Landis 70 (1) 9. Greg Jones 35 (8) DNS - Houseman 50

Landis took the point early and led until Gharst spun on lap five, bringing a caution. Under the yellow flag conditions, Landis suffered a flat and retired. Meyer inherited the lead and took it to the checkers. Anderson used a strong start in jumping from ninth to fifth and held on to a transfer. Giannetto went from seventh to third in a hurry after the lap five restart to grab third.

B main (started): 1. Landis (2) 2. Vanderploeg (1) 3. Moore (6) 4. M. Jones (8) 5. Gharst (3) 6. Jeffrey (7) / 7. Slinkard (4) 8. G. Jones (5) 9. Bell (9) DNS - Antill, Weuve, Houseman

Meyer (11)

Jackson slid under the front row for an exciting pass for the lead. He paced the field until Giannetto, who was running sixth, came to a rest on the backstretch, on lap six of the 25 lapper. Meyer also exited with rear end problems at this time. The restart saw Jackson leading Henderson, Logan, Madsen and Alley back to green flag racing. Logan set his sights on the lead pair and moved under, grabbing the point on lap seven. Henderson would battle back and lead lap eight in intense action. Logan tracked him down, finding some rubber developing in turns one and two and took the point for good on the 13th circuit. He was able to hold off the challenges of a persistent Madsen, who extended his point lead over Johnson.

Hall was on the move and took over on lap three of 10 from his third row starting spot. He pulled away until stopping on lap five. He restarted at the tail. J. Hall again assumed the lead over Phillips, Eastin, Leavitt and Higday. Edwards jumped from the seventh spot to grab third on the restart, in the move of the night. Beaver shot out to the lead and put everyone behind him in the 20 lapper. He was weaving through traffic as Peters and Mather slowly picked their way up through the field. On lap 16, Beaver held a five second lead over Lenz when he made heavy contact with the wall while dealing with lapped traffic. This ended his night. Lenz assumed the lead and led the last four laps for his first career Knoxville win in almost 20 years of competition. Mather moved from sixth to third after the restart, sharing hard-charger honors with Higday.
