2008 Interview (audio) with Van May!

Thursday, October 27, 2016
A couple of weeks ago, it was good to catch up with a Pennsylvania icon, Van May.  In 2008, I was able to spend a summer afternoon with him.  Van's stories are classic, and in the case of many Posse fans, they have even grown with time!  I've selected some of our conversation from a Mexican Restaurant in Hanover to share at OW101.  I just plopped my recorder down on the table, so it's nothing professional, but it's definitely entertaining!

From the best tacos in El Paso, to remembering supermodifieds, racing at Turkey Night in Ascot, his move to follow his brother Dub to PA, the legend on three wheels, the Syracuse crash, his win from the B in the 150-lap 1977 Williams Grove Open, driving the legendary Bob Trostle/Doug Wolfgang machine of 1977 in Albuquerque, his union with Weldon Sterner, his airlift from Port Royal, his big win in the Ohio Speedweek finale in Zanesville in the Ben Cook #33 house car, and much more...it was all a part of this conversation!
