51 cars

Heat one (started): 1. Josh Riggins 14 (1) 2. Regan Kitchen 21 (2) 3. Ken Klabunde 28 (3) / 4. Doug Lovegrove 44 (5) 5. Ron Love 15 (6) 6. Adam Gillion 49G (8) 7. Terry Holliman 23 (10) 8. Brad Wright 27 (7) 9. Dirk Mitchell 2m (4) 10. Herb Reed 14x (11) 11. Mark Schmitt 9J (9)

Heat positions were determined by draw, and the top three finishers transferred to the A and were lined up “heads up”.  Riggins led the distance and won by a straightaway in a mostly single-file affair on a fast track in the ten lapper.

Heat two (started): 1. Gregg Bakker 11x (1) 2. Billy Alley 22 (6) 3. Natalie Sather 94s (2) / 4. Toby Chapman 20x (10) 5. Justin Henderson 24A (3) 6. Clint Garner 40 (8) 7. Terry Ledger 32 (5) 8. Rick Ideus 3R (9) 9. Mikey Gabelhouse 3R (9) 10. Stu Snyder 66x (4)

Bakker led flag to flag in a runaway.  Sather ran a steady second and held off Alley in a good battle, until the last lap.  With the format, though he went from 10th to 4th, Chapman still headed to the B.

Heat three (started): 1. Chad Humsten 23c (7) 2. Cory Eckley 1 (1) 3. Gene Ackland 14G (3) / 4. Jay Jordan 19J (2) 5. Jeff Lowery 45 (10) 6. Gage Doerr 17 (5) 7. Rob Lipker 7L (6) 8. Bobby Becker Jr. 8B (9) 9. Jeremy Fey 29G (4) 10. Scott Robertson 10 (8)

Eckley took the early lead, but as soon as Humsten hit the rough berm on the high banks, he shot forward.  He hunted down Eckley and made his pass for the point on the last go-around.

Heat four (started): 1. Dusty Zomer 1z (5) 2. Jason Danley 82 (3) 3. Bryan Gossel 6G (1) / 4. Rodney Droud 2x (8) 5. Larry Pinegar II 13F (2) 6. John Klabunde 77 (7) 7. Mitchell Moore 2D (10) 8. Kevin Hulse 15x (9) 9. Seth Brahmer 13 (4) 10. Dean Chadd 4c (6)

In a first lap incident, J. Danley and Brahmer made contact sending the latter and D. Chadd upside down in a hard turn two crash.  Brahmer would make repairs and return for the B, but D. Chadd was done.  Once underway, Gossel outdueled Pinegar for the point.  Gossel led on the low side, while Danley, Zomer, Pinegar and a charging Droud battled behind him.  Moore brought out the caution with a 360 spin on lap eight.  The restart saw Gossel leading Zomer, J. Danley, Pinegar and Droud back to green.  Zomer made the winning pass on the white flag lap and J. Danley followed suit thwarting a strong run by Gossel.

Heat five (started): 1. Chris Roseland 84 (2) 2. Terry McCarl 1m (4) 3. Mike Boston 51 (3) / 4. Tadd Holliman 23R (1) 5. Mike Chadd 4 (6) 6. Jake Peters 57x (5) 7. Rick Halversteadt 1H (7) 8. Jeff Griffis 3 (8) 9. Ryan Anderson 71R (10) 10. Kevin Danley 7x (9)

Roseland led the distance in the most stacked heat of the night.  McCarl was breathing down Roseland’s nerf bar at the line, but settled for second.

B main #1 (started): 1. M. Chadd (4) 2. Droud (2) / 3. Lovegrove (1) 4. Henderson (3) 5. Ideus (8) 6. Gillion (6) 7. Moore (7) 8. Doerr (5) 9. Griffis (9) 10. Fey (10) 11. Reed (12) 12. Schmitt (11)

Lovegrove took the early lead.  M. Chadd worked the middle groove of the track to take the advantage on lap eight of 12.  Droud slipped back at the outset but tracked down Lovegrove and captured the final transfer with a slingshot move out of turn four, coming for the checkered flag.

B main #2 (started): 1. Chapman (1) 2. Ta. Holliman (2) / 3. Lowery (3) 4. Becker (8) 5. Halversteadt (7) 6. Ledger (6) 7. J. Klabunde (5) 8. Snyder (10) 9. K. Danley (11) 10. Mitchell (9) 11. Te. Holliman (4) DNS – D. Chadd

Chapman left the rest behind and led flag to flag in the 12 lapper.  The Holliman brothers battled for the final transfer before Terry retired.

B main #3 (started): 1. Love (2) 2. Peters (5) / 3. Jordan (1) 4. Pinegar (3) 5. Lipker (6) 6. Garner (4) 7. Wright (7) 8. Gabelhouse (9) 9. Ry. Anderson (10) 10. Robertson (11) 11. Brahmer (12) 12. Hulse (8)

Hulse needed a second push and started at the rear.  Jordan jumped to the early lead before Love took command for good on lap two.  Peters worked the cushion to shoot around Pinegar and Jordan for the final transfer.

A main (started): 1. Bakker (2) 2. Alley (7) 3. McCarl (10) 4. Humston (3) 5. Roseland (5) 6. Peters (21) 7. J. Danley (9) 8. Chapman (17) 9. Zomer (4) 10. Droud (19) 11. Riggins (1) 12. Boston (15) 13. Love (18) 14. Ackland (13) 15. M. Chadd (16) 16. Eckley (8) 17. Kitchen (6) 18. K. Klabunde (11) 19. Ta. Holliman (20) 20. Sather (12) 21. Gossel (14)

Young Riggins took the point from his pole position, riding the low groove of the 1/3 mile track.  On lap seven of 25, the lone caution in the event came out for a spun Eckley.  Riggins led Bakker, Roseland, Humston and Alley back to the green flag.  Bakker used the opportunity to get around Riggins for a lead he would not relinquish.  Bakker knifed through traffic in impressive fashion and was never challenged despite good runs by Alley and McCarl behind him.  McCarl grabbed third from Humston with two laps remaining.  Peters was the hard-charger, moving forward 15 spots.  Bakker took $2500 back to Sioux Falls for his efforts.
