Donny Schatz (1st car out to time) set quick time at 11.467 seconds on a quickly drying surface.  Danny Lasoski (6th car out) was second quick, followed by David Gravel (2nd), Daryn Pittman (8th), Shane Stewart (17th), Joey Saldana (7th), Paul McMahan (11th), Kraig Kinser (3rd), Brad Sweet (10th) and Kerry Madsen (19th).  Sammy Swindell had difficulty on his first lap and spun on his second, resulting in the 31st quick time of the night.

Heat one (started): 1. McMahan 51 (2) 2. Tim Kaeding 3 (5) 3. Schatz 15 (4) 4. Pittman 9 (3) 5. Terry McCarl 24 (9) 6. Dusty Zomer 82 (6) / 7. Sammy Swindell 41 (11) 8. K. Madsen 29 (1) 9. Ryan Bickett 17 (7) 10. Dylan Peterson 25 (8) 11. Joe Riedel 15x (10)

K. Madsen led early over Schatz and McMahan.  Peterson spun with a lap in the books.  Madsen chose the inside on the double-file restart, and McMahan jumped by Schatz to second.  Bickett moved into the sixth and final transfer.  McMahan came together with the leader, sending Madsen into a spin.  McMahan chose the inside line on the restart, ahead of Schatz, Kaeding, Pittman, Bickett, T. McCarl, Swindell and Zomer.  The restart saw a lot of movement including Kaeding passing Schatz for second.  T. McCarl moved into fifth, with Zomer getting by Swindell and Bickett for the final transfer.

Heat two (started): 1. K. Kinser 11K (2) 2. Jason Sides 7s (5) 3. Dave Glennon 5 (1) 4. Stewart 2 (3) 5. Lasoski 2L (4) 6. Jacob Allen 1a (7) / 7. Logan Schuchart 1s (6) 8. Austin McCarl 17A (8) 9. Andy Anderson 51A (9) 10. Jordan Martens 13JM (10)

The movement seen in heat one was gone by heat two.  Glenn took the early lead in a race that saw the cars crawling around the bottom.  K. Kinser did shoot around Glennon for the lead on lap six, and Sides followed him into second a lap later.

Heat three (started): 1. Ian Madsen 18 (1) 2. Sweet 49 (2) 3. Gravel 7 (4) 4. Saldana 71m (3) 5. Brent Marks 19m (7) 6. Mark Dobmeier 13 (5) / 7. Chuck McGillivray 101 (10) 8. Eric Schulz 4x (9) 9. Kevin Ingle 2K (8) 10. Brant O’Banion 47 (6)

While I. Madsen shot off to a convincing win, the drama was for the final transfer.  O’Banion was the lone car trying the high side and he made it interesting for a lap or two before it gave way and he was shuffled back.  Marks was able to work by Dobmeier for fifth in his first Huset’s appearance ever.

Dash (started): 1. McMahan (1) 2. Pittman (3) 3. Stewart (2) 4. Schatz (6) 5. Gravel (4) 6. Lasoski (5) 7. K. Kinser (7) 8. I. Madsen (8)

McMahan led the 6-lap distance.  Schatz made the only real move in the race, passing Gravel for fourth by going with a little higher line in one and two and coming with some momentum down the backstretch.

B main (started): 1. Schuchart (2) 2. K. Madsen (1) 3. Bickett (4) 4. A. McCarl (6) 5. Swindell (13) 6. Peterson (5) / 7. McGillivray (12) 8. Ingle (7) 9. Schulz (9) 10. Riedel (10) 11. Anderson (8) 12. Martens (11) 13. O’Banion (3)

K. Madsen led the 12-lapper early over Schuchart and Bickett.  By lap five, Sammy was up to the sixth and final transfer from the tail.  He would move into fifth on lap nine, and finish on A. McCarl’s bumper.  On lap 11, Schuchart found his way around K. Madsen, who was blocked in lapped traffic.  Rubber was appearing on the track.

The grader came out on the track during intermission.

A main (started): 1. Schatz (4) 2. Stewart (3) 3. Lasoski (6) 4. Gravel (5) 5. K. Kinser (7) 6. I. Madsen (8) 7. Sweet (10) 8. K. Madsen (11) 9. Zomer (16) 10. Kaeding (13) 11. T. McCarl (22) 12. Dobmeier (15) 13. Marks (20) 14. Sides (14) 15. Saldana (9) 16. Allen (19) 17. McMahan (1) 18. Schuchart (17) 19. Pittman (2) 20. A. McCarl (21) 21. Glennon (12) 22. Peterson (24) 23. Swindell (23) 24. Bickett (18)

McMahan led the 35-lapper early over Pittman and Stewart.  There was a bit of a cushion to work with the first handful of laps.  Schatz moved by Stewart into third on lap three, and he was by Pittman for second a lap later.  Pittman worked back by for second on lap nine, as rubber appeared again around the bottom.  Stewart also moved by Schatz for third on lap 15.  Disaster struck for the first and second place cars of McMahan and Pittman with 19 laps in.  McMahan would tangle with the lapped car of A. McCarl and spin.  Pittman took evasive action and spun himself.  Stewart and Schatz barely got by the incident, but assumed the lead ahead of Lasoski, Gravel and K. Kinser.  On lap 26, Stewart got a bit high in turn four, and Schatz pounced for a lead he would never give up.  Swindell brought out the last caution with seven laps to go.  Saldana lost a right rear tire on the last lap and lsot a top ten run.  T. McCarl was the hard-charger.  Schatz’s win was his second in about eighteen hours after winning after 2 a.m. at Knoxville.
