Kerry Madsen (20th car to time) set the standard in qualifications with a lap of 15.207 seconds. Terry McCarl (7th car out) was second quick, followed by John VanDenBerg (9th), Jeff Mitrisin (5th), Skip Jackson (14th), Justin Henderson (24th), Brooke Tatnell (18th), Travis Cram (3rd), Don Droud Jr. (16th) and Jon Agan (8th). Mark Dobmeier, who was visiting from North Dakota suffered motor problems and got a lap in at the end of qualifications.

Heat one (started): 1. Jesse Hockett 75 (4) 2. Brian Brown 6 (2) 3. Matt Moro 47 (1) 4. Tatnell 50D (6) 5. Wayne Johnson 12x (5) 6. Lynton Jeffrey 4K (3) / 7. Madsen 82 (8) 8. Henderson R19 (7) 9. Mike Moore 69 (9) 10. Greg Jones 35 (10)

Moro took the early lead on a rather narrow track. He kept Hockett behind him until lap four when Hockett moved around. Jones brought out a caution when he lost his muffler and had to exit on lap five. Tatnell tried to maneuver around Moro for third, but ran out of room. Quick qualifiers Madsen and Henderson were relegated to the B. Moore exited on lap six. Tatnell was subbing for Derek Beckman in the Cox 50D.

Heat two (started): 1. Ricky Logan 17G (2) 2. Jaymie Moyle 10 (4) 3. Jeff Johnson 11J (1) 4. Jackson 21 (7) 5. Cram 92 (6) 6. McCarl 24 (8) / 7. Clint Garner 55 (5) 8. Chris Walraven 56 (3) 9. Robert Bell 71 (9) DNS - Manny Rockhold 02

Logan led wire to wire. The best racing was between Jackson and Cram for fourth. McCarl wrestled the final transfer from Garner with two to go.

Heat three (started): 1. Eddie Leavitt Jr. 1A (2) 2. Droud 7x (6) 3. Colin Northway 60 (4) 4. Ryan Anderson 71R (1) 5. Mitrisin 5J (7) 6. Jon Agan 4 (5) / 7. VanDenBerg V10 (8) 8. Dobmeier 13 (9) 9. Tyler Houseman 50 (10) 10. Calvin Landis 70 (3)

Landis was sitting comfortably in a transfer spot when he blew his right rear on lap five. Leavitt led throughout using the cushion. Droud supplied late pressure, but couldn't make a move on Leavitt.

B main (started): 1. Madsen (1) 2. VanDenBerg (2) / 3. Henderson (3) 4. Landis (5) 5. Walraven (6) 6. Dobmeier (8) 7. Jones (7) 8. Houseman (9) 9. Garner (4) 10. Bell (10) DNS - Moore, Rockhold

Madsen led the duration with VanDenBerg in tow. Bell bowed out on lap four when he lost his driveline. Garner came to a halt and exited while running fourth on lap ten.

A main (started): 1. Northway (2) 2. McCarl (12) 3. Moyle (3) 4. Cram (8) 5. Brown (13) 6. Jackson (10) 7. Tatnell (9) 8. VanDenBerg (20) 9. Madsen (19) 10. Logan (14) 11. Droud (7) 12. Agan (6) 13. Ry. Anderson (16) 14. Mitrisin (11) 15. Moro (18) 16. J. Johnson (17) 17. Leavitt (15) 18. Jeffrey (1) 19. Hockett (4) 20. W. Johnson (5)

The initial green saw disaster as Jeffrey got crossed up on the backstretch and collected Hockett. W. Johnson also got upside down in the incident. No one was injured, but all were done. Northway shot out to an early lead with Moyle in tow. Lap seven of 25 saw Leavitt spin on the frontstretch. Fortunately, Jackson barely eluded ramming him. Northway surrendered a huge lead on the restart to Moyle, Cram, Droud and McCarl. Droud was running fifth on lap thirteen when his right rear went flat. He restarted at the tail, but again the field was bunched behind Northway. He led Moyle, McCarl, Cram and Jackson back to the green flag. The rest of the race went non-stop. Soon after the restart McCarl got under Moyle and began his pursuit of Northway. With three to go, the five time champ pulled closer in lapped traffic. Northway kept the lead and shot between two lapped markers on the final circuit to secure his first career triumph at Knoxville. Brown came on strong in the final laps as well and outdueled both Tatnell and Jackson to get into the top five in a fine run. VanDenBerg earned hard-charger honors by beating fellow back row starter Madsen to eighth.

Dash for cash (started): 1. Brown (1) 2. McCarl (6) 3. Jackson (2) 4. Logan (4) 5. Madsen (5) 6. Cram (3)

The six lap dash for cash paid Brown $1000 for the win. He was set up on the cushion and led the distance. McCarl could not reel him in after taking second on lap two. Cram pulled off on that lap.

Lenz dropped out early. Breazeale led the distance on a narrow track. The narrow track made charges by both Giannetto and Martin all the more impressive. Giannetto finished on the nerf bar of Breazeale and started the night 10 points behind point leader Billy Alley.

Heat two (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Billy Alley 22A (2*) 2. Johnny Anderson 7a (1*) 3. Josh Higday 24 (6*) 4. Michael Jones 12 (3) 5. Brett Golik 5G (4) 6. John Hall 7H (8) 7. Curtis Thorson 91 (5) 8. Rob Edwards 22 (7) 9. Mike Houseman Jr. Y5 (9)

Heat four (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Mike Houseman 83 (2*) 2. Dave Hesmer 1 (4*) 3. Dave Hall 51 (1*) 4. Tim St. Arnold 7s (9*) 5. Ed Ergenbright 11 (6) 6. Rodney Turner 69 (7) 7. Stacey Alexander 126 (3) 8. Doug Larsen 4 (5) DNS - Nathan Mosher 45 (8)

S. Alexander got loose and spun on lap two. Ergenbright made contact and went airborne, but kept it going and saved his position. Larsen got upside down in the mayhem and was done. The restart saw Houseman lead D. Hall, Hesmer, Ergenbright and St. Arnold back to the cone. St. Arnold would work around Ergenbright in what would prove to be a transfer into the A. Hesmer looked good and worked over Hall for second in a good battle.

B main (started): 1. Ergenbright (2) 2. J. Hall (4) 3. Golik (3) 4. Turner (7) / 5. Mather (9) 6. Williams (8) 7. Lenz (18) 8. Potter (6) 9. S. Alexander (12) 10. Thorson (10) 11. Martinez (11) 12. Ergenbright led the distance in a non-stopper. Jones exited after slowing while running second on lap six. Turner benefited from Jones misfortune with the final transfer position. Lenz moved forwared 11 spots from the tail to seventh.

A main (started): 1. Alley (10) 2. Martin (6) 3. Beaver (1) 4. Hesmer (7) 5. Giannetto (12) 6. Wilson (3) 7. Breazeale (11) 8. Houseman (9) 9. St. Arnold (2) 10. Golik (19) 11. Heimbaugh (14) 12. D. Hall (15) 13. Mason (8) 14. Turner (20) 15. Ergenbright (17) 16. J. Hall (18) 17. York (13) 18. J. Anderson (4) 19. Ball (16) 20. Higday (5)

Beaver jumped out to a lead from the point. After a lap had been completed, Higday smacked the wall and bent his right rear wheel. He could not make repairs in time. Ball also exited with mechanical ills. The restart saw Beaver leading St. Arnold, Martin, Wilson and J. Anderson. J. Anderson would fall out on lap four and York would follow him. Alley began his charge and picked off the top five one at a time. He made his winning move around the halfway point of the twenty lapper. Another yellow was brought out on lap for J. Hall who stopped and exited. The restart saw Ergenbright lose his left rear tire and exit for the final time at Knoxville Raceway. Alley led Beaver, St. Arnold, Martin and Hesmer back to Justin Clark's green flag. Three laps would pass before Turner and Mason made contact, with both suffering enough damage to retire. Alley cruised the rest of the way, while Martin grabbed second from beaver with two to go. Alley and Golik shared hard-charger honors by moving up nine spots apiece. For Ergenbright and Breazeale, this would be their last race as both are calling it quits after providing us with many years of entertainment.

Dash for cash (started): 1. Beaver (3) 2. Thorson (1) 3. Giannetto (5) 4. Alley (6) 5. Houseman (4) 6. Golik (2)

Beaver took the lead from Thorson on lap three of six to pocket $500.
