26 cars

Heat one (started): 1. Steve Breazeale 57 (1) 2. Clint Garner 40 (2) 3. Dusty Ballenger 2 (3) 4. Billy Alley 22 (8) 5. Micah Schliemann 9m (7) / 6. Gregg Bakker 11x (5) 7. Jason Danley 82 (4) 8. Ken Klabunde 28 (9) 9. Mary Wilcox 3 (6)

Heats were eight laps, taking five to the feature. The top four were eligible for a redraw. Breazeale held off the pressure of Garner to lead the distance. Great side by side racing between Alley and Bakker much of the way for fifth. Bakker could not quite get by Schliemann for the final transfer spot.

Heat two (started): 1. Don Droud Jr. 24a (2) 2. Larry Ball Jr. 5J (1) 3. Bill Boles 05 (6) 4. Brad Barickman 9x (5) 5. Ryan Anderson 71R (9) / 6. Rick Ideus 5B (8) 7. Mitchell Moore 2D (3) 8. Tim O'Banion 49 (7) 9. Joe Beaver 53 (4)

Ball led early, but was overtaken by Droud. Lap two saw Beaver, who was running third come to a stop, bringing caution. He retired to the pit area. After the restart, Droud left the rest behind. Boles did a nice job of moving up on the low side, while Anderson was running high on the banks to move up nicely into a transfer over a persistent Ideus.

Heat three (started): 1. Stu Snyder 66x (1) 2. Jake Peters 57x (2) 3. Mike Chadd 4 (5) 4. Seth Brahmer 13 (4) 5. Chris Roseland 84 (8) / 6. Terry Ledger 32 (3) 7. Doug Lovegrove 44 (7) 8. Ryan Voss 2H (6)

Snyder led the distance in an impressive showing over Peters. Chadd used the last corner to get around Brahmer. Roseland, from the only town in Iowa west of the Missouri River (Carter Lake), passed Ledger for the final transfer with two to go.

B main (started): 1. Bakker (1) 2. Ideus (2) 3. Beaver (10) 4. Danley (4) 5. Klabunde (7) / 6. Moore (5) 7. Lovegrove (6) 8. Voss (9) 9. Wilcox (8) 10. Ledger (3) DNS - O'Banion

Bakker checked out on the field. Beaver had a great charge, grabbing third on the last lap from Danley, who had his top wing sideboard collapse.

A main (started): 1. Alley (1) 2. Droud (5) 3. Peters (9) 4. Garner (7) 5. Breazeale (4) 6. Bakker (16) 7. Brahmer (3) 8. Beaver (18) 9. Ballenger (10) 10. Schliemann (13) 11. Roseland (15) 12. Barickman (2) 13. Danley (19) 14. Boles (11) 15. Snyder (6) 16. Ball (8) 17. Anderson (14) 18. Ideus (17) 19. Klabunde (20) 20. Chadd (12)

Alley led all 20 laps, but Droud was on his tail until the very end. Ball brought out a caution on lap two, but made repairs in the work area and restarted at the tail. Two laps later, Klabunde spun in turn four. At the time, Alley led Droud, Barickman, Breazeale and Peters. Chadd had surged from 12th to 6th on lap eight when he stopped and then exited with driveline problems. 19 cars finished the race. The track stayed racy with grooves high and low and speeds remaining around 125 mph. Both Bakker and Beaver moved forward ten positions in the event.
