Ian Madsen (24th car out to time) set quick time at 12.680 seconds on the 1/3-mile oval.  Tony Stewart (17th car out) was second quick, followed by Terry McCarl (19th), Tim Shaffer (23rd), Cory Eliason (28th), Justin Peck (18th), Anthony Macri (27th), Kyle Reinhardt (8th), Donny Schatz (29th) and Brent Marks (26th).  Reinhardt, Stewart, I. Madsen and Eliason were quickest in their respective groups.  Sean Rayhall and Danny Smith both had motor troubles.  Brad Howard had a fire in hot laps but stamped out his own flames on his leg and returned to qualify.

Heat one (started): 1. Steve Buckwalter 17B (1) 2. RJ Jacobs 18J (2) 3. Tyler Ross 75 (5) 4. Reinhardt 91 (4) 5. Hunter Schuerenberg 55 (6) / 6. Chris Myers 25 (3) 7. Brandon Conkel 08 (7) 8. Billy Boyd Jr. 4B (9) 9. Zach Hampton 15B (8)

8-lap heats took the winner and the quickest driver in the group finishing in the top five to the dashes.  Most of the heats were single-file on a heavy track.

Heat two (started): 1. Tyler Courtney 7BC (2) 2. Gio Scelzi 18 (1) 3. Peck 13 (3) 4. Stewart 14 (4) 5. Chris Windom 19 (5) / 6. Carson Short 21 (6) 7. Paulie Colagiovanni 10 (8) 8. Craig Pellegrini 27c (9) 9. Frank Neill 88N (7)

Courtney led the distance.  Neill had something break and went into the backstretch wall and turned over.  He was unhurt, but done for the night.

Heat three (started): 1. Shaffer 72 (2) 2. Macri 39m (1) 3. I. Madsen 11 (4) 4. Brent Marks 5 (5) 5. Kerry Madsen 101 (7) / 6. Cale Conley 3c (6) 7. T. McCarl 24 (3) 8. Mark Imler 40I (8) DNS – Sean Rayhall 14R

T. McCarl gets sideways on lap two, saves it and comes to a stop.  He restarted at the tail, but it was tough to make up ground.  Shaffer led the whole way.

Heat four (started): 1. Schatz 15 (3) 2. Jamie Myers 1 (2) 3. Cole Duncan 22 (6) 4. Eliason 26 (4) 5. Scotty Thiel 73 (5) / 6. Brad Howard 49H (7) 7. AJ Maddox 3A (8) 8. Carson McCarl 27 (1) DNS – Danny Smith 4

C. McCarl spun before a lap could be completed, collecting Thiel.  Somehow Eliason made it through after heavy contact.  Only C. McCarl was done.  Schatz led wire to wire in dominating fashion.  Maddox was running well in the final transfer at the halfway point, when he went up in smoke.

Dash one (started): 1. I. Madsen (2) 2. Schatz (3) 3. Stewart (1) 4. Buckwalter (4) 5. Reinhardt (5)

4-lap dashes set the inside (dash one) and outside (dash two) starting spots in the first five rows of the feature.  I. Madsen led wire to wire.  Schatz passed his teammate Stewart for second on lap two.

Dash two (started): 1. Eliason (2) 2. Peck (1) 3. Macri (3) 4. Courtney (5) 5. Shaffer (4)

B main (started): 1. T. McCarl (1) 2. Conley (2) 3. C. Myers (3) 4. Short (5) / 5. Howard (4) 6. Colagiovanni (7) 7. Hampton (11) 8. Imler (8) 9. Conkel (6) 10. Boyd Jr. (10) 11. Pellegrini (9) DNS – Maddox, C. McCarl, Rayhall, Neill, Smith

The 12-lapper took the top four to the A.  Pellegrini came to a stop and exited before a lap could be completed.  T. McCarl led the distance ahead of Conley.  C. Myers and Short swapped third a couple of times, but the four transfers were decided.

A main (started): 1. Schatz (3) 2. I. Madsen (1) 3. K. Madsen (17) 4. Courtney (8) 5. Scelzi (13) 6. Shaffer (10) 7. Peck (4) 8. Stewart (5) 9. Marks (16) 10. Schuerenberg (19) 11. Eliason (2) 12. Macri (6) 13. Buckwalter (7) 14. Short (24) 15. Thiel (18) 16. T. McCarl (21) 17. Ross (14) 18. Jacobs (12) 19. Conley (22) 20. C. Myers (23) 21. Reinhardt (9) 22. J. Myers (11) 23. Duncan (15) 24. Windom (20)

Eliason led the 30-lapper early over Schatz and I. Madsen.  Peck shot by I. Madsen for third on lap five.  Eliason was into lapped traffic on lap six.  Peck continued his surge forward by passing Schatz for second on lap 8 before Windom spun, collecting the leader, Eliason.  Eliason restarted at the tail.  Thiel replaced a right rear and restarted at the tail.  Peck now led on the restart, ahead of Schatz, I Madsen, Macri and Courtney.  I. Madsen moved under Schatz for second, but Schatz reclaimed the spot a lap later.  Courtney and Shaffer moved by Macri on lap 11 for fourth and fifth.  T. McCarl brought a caution on lap 11.  K. Madsen was on the move on the restart, checking into the top five after starting 17th.  Schatz sized up Peck, who seemed to be fading and passed him for the lead at the halfway point.  I. Madsen followed him into second a lap later.  Schatz was in lapped traffic on lap seventeen.  Courtney moved into the top three with a pass of Peck on lap 17 before someone hit and infield tire, bringing the last caution.  K. Madsen took fourth on the restart, and then slid by Courtney for a podium spot with 11 to go.  Schatz could not be headed for his second win of the week.
