There was a huge sigh of relief when it was announced that Junior Fan Club Night, presented by Colby Ride and Village Pointe Toyota at Eagle Raceway was a go!!! Despite several episodes of drenching rain during the week, including 2 inches of precipitation Friday night, the Eagle Raceway track prep crew pulled off a near miracle and got the racing surface ready to go and provided a great venue for fabulous action on the high banks.

There were no serious incidents in the preliminary races.

To round out the evening’s racing, the Duros Dent Works IMCA Racesaver Sprints rolled out for their A Feature. Ryan King in the 93 led lap 1 followed by the 20D of Jacob Dye, the 22D of Dan Nekolite and Gene Ackland in the 14G. Trevor Grossenbacher flipped the 35 in turn 4 and Ackland headed to the pits before coming back to the racing surface. Stu Snyder leaped the 5 into third on the restart. Tyler Drueke took his 12 into fourth on lap 7. The next circuit saw Dye loop it in turn 3 and head off on the hook. Nekolite got past King for the lead on the restart with Snyder moving to second. Drueke advanced to third the next time around and Snyder grabbed the lead the following circuit. Lap 12 saw Drueke move up to second. There were 9 laps to go when Brandon Horton flipped the 1B in turn 4 and the red lights came on in the corners. After being restarted Drueke lost the right front wheel from his sprint and had to retire. That made the running order Snyder, Nekolite, King and the 14J of Josh Riggins. Riggins moved up to third on the restart with the 47 of Cody Ledger taking over the 4th spot. The final top 4 were Snyder, Nekolite, Riggins and Ledger.

Stu’s victory was his second in a row after starting fourth row outside. He began his interview by stating “First off I have to give a big hand to the Eagle Raceway track prep crew, Roger Hadan and his crew because he could have thrown the towel in on this deal. I kind of thought when we got here that he should have, but it played out pretty good! It was a technical track. It was up on the wheel and wide open!! I didn’t know how far I was out front after I got there and then I saw that the 12 was running second. I knew there was a lapped car in between us because I was trying to pass the lappers as quick as I could to put them in between me and Drueke because on this type of track if you make one mistake and you’re going to eat up a whole straightaway lead. I was trying to be smooth and yet be as aggressive as I could be and as hard on the gas as I could be. Then it came over the radio that Tyler’s tire came off. I’m not sure what happened there, but I feel for them too. It was just one of those nights again where everything clicked when we rolled it out of the trailer”. Stu’s sponsors include Meyers Racing Engines, Momentum Racing Suspensions, JR1 Chassis, KRL Motorsports, HoZby Power, Robin LePage, KED Trucking, Mister Yards and More, Keizer Wheels and Simpson Racing Products.
