Two flights of qualifying were used. Brad Sweet came out last (19th) in the first flight at set quick time at 15.891 seconds. Donny Schatz (9th car out) was second quick, followed by Lance Dewease (1st), Kerry Madsen (10th) and Lucas Wolfe (4th). Logan Wagner (4th car out) set quick time in the second group and overall at 15.852 seconds. Sheldon Haudenschild (9th car out) was second quick, followed by Anthony Macri (1st), Logan Schuchart (11th) and Justin Henderson (13th). Macri’s engine went up in smoke after his second lap, so an engine change was in order before the heats.

8-lap heats sent the top five to the feature and the top two to the dash. Sweet was penalized for jumping on the initial start, moving hi to the second row. Dewease assumed the pole and took the early lead, while Sweet moved quickly into second, ahead of Wolfe and McFadden. Wolfe battled back by Sweet on lap two for the runner-up spot, but Sweet shot back by the next lap in a good duel.

Schatz led the distance. Things were mostly single-file up front, but M. Wagner dogged Zearfoss for the final transfer, before snatching the spot on the last lap.

Wagner led flag to flag in a mostly single-file affair. Henderson got into the wall on the first lap and got shuffled back.
Heat four (started): 1. Schuchart 1s (2) 2. David Gravel 2 (4) 3. Haudenschild 17 (1) 4. Jacob Allen 1a (7) 5. Brent Marks 19 (3) / 6. Freddie Rahmer 51 (9) 7. Justin Whittall 67 (5) 8. Landon Myers 19m (8) 9. Kraig Kinser 11K (6)
Haudenschild was penalized a row on the initial start for jumping. Schuchart assumed the pole and took the lead over Marks, Haudenschild and Gravel. Kinser spun one lap in, and collected Myers. Kinser was done. Schuchart chose the inside line on the restart, with Haudenschild getting by Marks for second. Gravel and Marks began battling for third and traded the spot twice. On lap six, Allen snatched the final transfer spot from Whittall. Marks suffered a flat right rear with a lap to go, creating a green, white, checker finish that saw Gravel snatch second, and Marks recover from the tail to grab the fifth and final transfer.

The 6-lapper set the first four rows for the feature. Macri dominated, winning by 4.7 seconds. Good battles back in the pack saw Schuchart take third from Schatz. That followed a battle with Sweet. Sweet would get by Schatz on the last lap for fourth.

The 12-lapper took the top four the A. Several cars got together at the start after Hampton bounced off the inside barrier. Kinser got the worst of it and was done. Whittall led early over Borden, Buckwalter, Zearfoss and Stutts. Buckwalter shot by Borden for second on lap two, while Rahmer moved into fifth. Whittall got into the turn two wall on lap four, ending his good run. Buckwalter assumed the lead ahead of Borden, Zearfoss and Rahmer, who would gain third briefly before Zearfoss battled back by a lap later. Borden took the lead on lap six in a good battle, while Zearfoss and Rahmer exchanged third twice more.

The 25-lapper began with Madsen leading Macri, Sweet, Schatz and Schuchart. L. Wagner would last just one lap, slowing and exiting to bring caution. Madsen chose the outside groove on the restart. Seet and Schuchart oved into second and third, relegating Macro to fourth, and Schatz to fifth. Sweet would get into the wall on lap four, opening the door for Schuchart to move into second. Bayston spun six laps in, bringing another yellow. Schatz shot from fifth to third on the restart, with Macri getting by Sweet for fourth. Schuchart briefly led on lap nine, but Madsen gained it back before the finish and a caution ten laps in for a spun Stroup. Schuchart could not avoid the spun car, and suffered enough damage to end his bid for the win. Sweet also surrendered a top five run for a flat right rear. Madsen led Schatz, Macri, Dewease and Wolfe. On lap 13, Dewease worked by Macri for third. When McFadden’s top wing side panel was lost, another caution came with ten to go. Dewease reeled in the leaders, getting by Schatzfor second with six to go. Buckwalter stopped at that point, to bring the final yellow. Marks got by Gravel for fifth, and Macri got by Schatz for third with four to go. Dewease slowly reeled in Madsen. The two were in a drag race out of the final corner, with Madsen holding off the veteran by .081 of a second for his first win at the Port. It was Madsen’s first action since the Knoxville Nationals. Marks was the hard-charger.
