Mother Nature took a shot at cancelling School’s Out for Summer, presented by Southeast Community College and Nebraska Lottery Saturday with early morning rains, but failed. A beautiful afternoon and evening allowed the good-sized crowd to enjoy 13 heats, 4 preliminary features and 5 A Mains, featuring 127 cars at Eagle Raceway.

There were no serious incidents in the preliminary racing.

Lastly, the Twin Rivers IMCA Racesaver Sprints rolled out for their A Feature. Mike Houseman led lap 1 in the 4L with Brandon Horton second in the 1B, Doug Lovegrove’s 55 third with Josh Riggins’ 14J fourth. Riggins moved up to third on lap 2. Trevor Grossenbacher passed Lovegrove with 17 circuits left to snag fourth. Riggins vaulted up to second the following lap. 2 circuits later Grossenbacher advanced to third. Gene Ackland looped the 14G in turn 3 the next lap for a caution. Grossenbacher moved to the lead on the restart. Riggins stopped in turn 4 with 6 to go. Stu Snyder put the #5 into fourth on the restart. Joey Danley took fourth with four laps left as Snyder moved up to third. Ackland stopped on the front stretch for another caution with 3 laps left. Snyder took the second spot with 2 circuits remaining to make the final top 4 Grossenbacher, Snyder, Houseman Jr. and Danley.

Next Saturday at Eagle Raceway Charger Chassis and Empire Fence present The American Dream Night. There will be purse money added for the Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stocks and the A1 Iron IMCA Stock Cars.

All 5 classes will be in competition including the Twin Rivers Sprint Cars, Nebraska Lottery Modifieds, Avid Realty SportMods, Valentino’s Hobby Stocks & A1 Iron Stock Cars.

Front gates open at 5:15 with adult admission being $15.

Pit gates open at 3:30 with pit passes costing $30. Hot laps begin at 5:30.
