55 cars

After late afternoon rains, things were delayed in getting started, and a fast track greeted the solid group of cars assembled.  Cars were split into two groups, with the top 20 in each group locking into heats.  The first group comprised heats one and two, and the second group made up heats three and four.  David Gravel (26th car to time in the first group) set quick time at 12.869 seconds.  Brian Brown (23rd car out) was second quick, followed by Ayrton Gennetten (7th), Gio Scelzi (15th) and Logan Schuchart (28th).  Justin Peck (24th car out) set quick time in the second group at 12.967 seconds.  He was followed by Rico Abreu (6th), Danny Dietrich (23rd), Carson Macedo (10th) and Donny Schatz (25th).  Logan Wagner did not get a time in.

Non-Qualifier (started): 1. Lachlan McHugh 101 (1) 2. Zach Hampton 35 (3) 3. Brady Bacon 21H (4) 4. Henry Malcuit 70 (2) 5. Cole Macedo 18x (10) / 6. Skylar Gee 99 (6) 7. Bill Rose 6 (5) 8. The 8-lapper took the top four to the tail of each of the four heats.  McHugh led the distance with Hampton in tow.  Malcuit took third from Bacon on lap two, but Brady got back around and couple of laps later.  Malcuit would scratch from the fourth heat, giving that spot to Co. Macedo, the first alternate.

Heat one (started): 1. Gravel 2 (1) 2. Gennetten 3 (2) 3. Schuchart 1s (3) 4. Brent Marks 19 (6) 5. Tanner Thorson 49x (7) / 6. Kerry Madsen 83JR (5) 7. Anthony Macri 39M (4) 8. Sheldon Haudenschild 17 (9) 9. McHugh (11) 10. Noah Gass 20G (8) 11. Lee Jacobs 81 (10)

Heats were 8 laps and took the top five to the feature, and the top two to the Dash.  There was not much passing save the opening lap in most, but Macri held the last transfer in this one, until Thorson stormed by him on the low side to claim it on lap two.  It was the only pass in the top five in any heat after the first lap.

Heat two (started): 1. Brown 21 (1) 2. Scelzi 18 (2) 3. Brad Sweet 49 (4) 4. Kyle Larson 57 (6) 5. Spencer Bayston 5 (3) / 6. Tyler Courtney 7BC (5) 7. Zeb Wise 26 (9) 8. Alex Bowman 55 (7) 9. Hunter Schuerenberg 55w (10) 10. Dave Blaney 10 (8) 11. Hampton (11)

The track started widening a bit for the 8-lap C that took two to the back of the B.  Gass led Bacon, Dumesny and Jacobs early.  Bacon was all over Gass and took the point from him on lap three.  Sabo stopped and exited on lap four.  The restart stopped the momentum of Dumesny, who was gaining on Gass, but after the green fell again, he was able to pull off a slider in one and two to take the final transfer.

Dash (started): 1. Peck (2) 2. Gravel (4) 3. Brown (6) 4. Kahne (1) 5. Ca. Macedo (3) 6. Dietrich (7) 7. Scelzi (5) 8. Gennetten (8)

The 6-lap Dash set the starting spots in the first four rows of the feature.  Peck led Gravel for the distance.  Brown passed Kahne for third on lap two.

B main (started): 1. Macri (1) 2. Madsen (3) 3. McFadden (4) 4. Henry (2) / 5. Balog (8) 6. Courtney (5) 7. Hafertepe (6) 8. Haudenschild (9) 9. Bowman (11) 10. Kinser (12) 11. Wise (7) 12. The 12-lapper took the top four to the A.  Macri, Madsen, McFadden and Henry held serve up front all 12 laps.  The good battle was behind them for fifth.  Hafertepe held the spot most of the way, before Balog disposed of Courtney and then shot into the fifth spot with three to go.  Courtney would follow him into sixth, but all would take their cars to the trailer.

A main (started): 1. Gravel (2) 2. Ca. Macedo (5) 3. Brown (3) 4. Peck (1) 5. Kahne (4) 6. Abreu (12) 7. Schatz (10) 8. Sweet (11) 9. Scelzi (7) 10. Gennetten (8) 11. Larson (15) 12. Allen (14) 24. Price-Miller (18) 25. Macri (21)

The 25-lap feature began with Madsen getting into the wall.  He’d restart at the tail.  Gravel led early over Brown, Peck, Ca. Macedo and Kahne.  Gravel was into lapped traffic by lap eight.  Macedo, who won twice this week a year ago, passed Peck for third, as he began to make the low side work on lap 10.  Scelzi and Kahne had a nice battle for fifth, as they exchanged that spot twice.  On lap 17, Macedo sized up Brown and passed him for the runner-up spot.  With five laps to go, Allen stopped, slowing things.  Kahne was able to take fourth from Peck on the restart low in turn four.  The final caution came with two to go, when Dietrich went up in smoke.  Gravel would go on to win, with Ca. Macedo and Brown in tow.  Peck took back fourth from Kahne.  The hard-charger was Haudenschild, who needed to use a provisional to make the field.
