Midwest Thunder Sprints Presented by OpenWheel101.com Wraps Up This Weekend at Huset’s; Not Too Late to Contribute to Point Fund!

Thursday, September 1, 2022
Austin McCarl leads the point standings heading to Huset's (Chuck Stowe Photo)Austin McCarl leads the point standings heading to Huset's (Chuck Stowe Photo) (Bill W) September 1, 2022, Monroe, IA – It’s hard to believe, but the Midwest Thunder Sprints Series and Point fund presented by www.OpenWheel101.com will be concluding this Saturday and Sunday with the Bull Haulers Brawl Presented by Folken Bros. Trucking.  The NOSA series will join the weekly 410’s, and MSTS 360’s will be in action both nights as well, so hopefully, you can head up.

Austin McCarl is in the driver’s seat in the standings right now, followed by Brian Brown, Aaron Reutzel, Gio Scelzi and Justin Henderson.  We’d like to pay off as many spots as we can in the point standings, and you can still get in on the point fund, whether it’s $5 or $5,000!  Quality Traffic Control (QTC) is the latest contributor!

Ayrton Gennetten picked up his second $100 bill from OpenWheel101.com at Knoxville Saturday for setting quick time over the 29-car field there.  2022 saw seven different drivers in the twelve weekly races benefit from the quick time program at Knoxville.  Ayrton also won his first ever feature at Knoxville, while Brown took the other feature and the track championship.  Corey Day won on Sunday at Huset’s, the first time he’s ever seen the joint!  Henderson leads McCarl by eight points and Matt Juhl by eleven points in the title race at Huset’s heading into this weekend.

It’s not too late to help out your drivers in the Midwest.  Contact Bill Wright today to donate.  100% of your contribution goes to the drivers, and you’ll receive FREE advertising on OpenWheel101.com for a year.  Keep up to date with current points and schedule at www.OpenWheel101.com!

Change in Focus

The Midwest Thunder Sprints presented by www.OpenWheel101.com is shifting its focus a bit this season to the weekly racers at the Knoxville Raceway and Huset’s Speedway.  In the past, 70-80 races have been traditionally scored in a nine-state region.  In 2022, the series point races will be 410 sprint car events at Knoxville Raceway in Iowa, Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota and Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minnesota.

In addition, OpenWheel101.com will be awarding $100 to the 410 quick qualifier at each weekly racing event (excluding special shows) at Knoxville.

“OpenWheel101.com is all about giving back to the racer,” says Bill Wright of OpenWheel101.com.  “With the travel, tire costs and just the plain cost of running up and down the road, this supplementary point fund could be big for the local drivers.  We also like to recognize those that give to the point fund with free advertising on the site.  Of course, OpenWheel101.com is a great way to check out past race results, stories and video highlights from the World of Outlaws, USAC, All Stars, the ASCS and more.  So, if you want to give to our traveling racers, and get some advertising out of it, this is the best way to do it!”

Sponsors are being sought to grow the point fund for the series sixth season!  Whether you are a fan like all of us, or a business that would like advertising through the series and OpenWheel101.com, join us!

Thousands of fans visit OpenWheel101.com each week to get the latest results, stories, video highlights, interviews and more.  You can also search there for old results and stories.  It’s a great place to advertise, and know that your contributions go straight to the drivers!  E-mail Bill Wright at sprntcar@hotmail.com to set up your deal!  Any amount is welcome!
