KNOXVILLE RACEWAY, Knoxville, IA, August 9, 2014 – The Friday Non-Qualifier program finally found its way to the Knoxville Raceway on Saturday afternoon with 48 drivers checking in and Danny Lasoski earning his 101st victory at the famed half-mile.

Suffering engine problems after taking the checkered flag in his Heat Race, the crew for the No. 33 was able to complete repairs to get Lasoski out for the A-Feature, where "The Dude" gridded the field seventh.

"It's a credit to my whole team. Mark Burch leads my team with Cody and Asa and I'm thankful for Paul Kistler for coming over and getting that thing fixed up. That just goes to show, this team never quits," commented Lasoski about overcoming a potential early ending to the 54th FVP Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey's General Store.

Moving to third on Lap 6, Lasoski watched as Jack Dover and Steve Kinser traded the top spot. Moving to slower traffic by the sixth round, the top three tightened with the chance for the lead coming on Lap 11. Moving off Turn 2, Lasoski found Dover and Kinser held up by back markers. Taking his familiar low line, Lasoski picked off the pair for the race lead exiting the fourth turn; opening his advantage to a staggering 8.568 seconds at the checkered flag.

Jack Dover had slipped to third, but was able to take second coming to the checkered flag as Jac Haudenschild saw his engine expire in a cloud of smoke.

Commenting on the pass by Lasoski, Dover revealed that he too had problems under the bonnet of the No. 53, "Danny's always good on the bottom. Before the race, I saw him trying to pack the bottom so I figured he'd be there. My car was pretty good anywhere I wanted to go, then there at the end it started overheating, and we lost a little power."

Despite the chokingly thick cloud of smoke from the No. 9w, Haudenschild was able to coast across the line for third, "We lost the motor right there at the end, so that's bad news, but we were a little better there in that feature so hopefully we'll get better in the next one."

After contact with the wall in the mid-point of the race, Steve Kinser was able to hold on for fourth with Seth Brahmer taking fifth.

Tony Bruce, Jr. crossed sixth with Chad Kemenah seventh from eleventh. Brandon Wimmer crossed eighth with Danny Holtgraver ninth. Dusty Zomer moved up two to complete the top-ten and become the last car to lock himself into tonight’s C main. The remainder of the competitor will line up according to their finishes in tonight’s E and D mains.
