Larson chose the inside line on the double-file restart ahead of Ca. Macedo, Naida, Myers Jr., and Kingseed. After a tough qualifying lap, Schatz started ninth, but went from seventh to fifth on the restart. On the following lap, contact between Foos and Kingseed sent the latter spinning. The 12-lapper took the top four to the feature. Henry spun before a lap could be completed, and Schuerenberg went to the work area, and eventually went pitside. Once green, McFadden led ahead of Hampton, Kingseed, Bacon and Mintz. Bacon passed Kingseed for third on lap two. The caution for Schuerenberg’s exit came six laps in. McFadden chose the low side on the restart, ahead of Hampton, Bacon, Kingseed, Thorson from ninth and Mintz. Thorson snatched fourth on the restart and then took third from Bacon with four to go. Henry, meanwhile had moved up to fifth. On lap 11, Kingseed turned over after contact with Mintz. The green, white, checker restart saw McFadden leading Hampton, Thorson, Bacon and Henry. Henry grabbed fourth on the restart. Coming to the checkers, Contact with Bacon saw Henry flip wildly into the fence and bounce back. He was air-lifted from the track for observation, but it was reported he was conscious and moving extremities. Mintz gained the final transfer in the melee.

Kofoid shot out to the early lead in the 40-lap $15,000 to win main event ahead of Larson and Haudenschild. Kofoid entered lapped traffic on the eighth lap, and a hesitation saw Larson fly by him on the high side. Two laps later, Kofoid slid Larson in four to retake the point. On lap 11, Haudenschild passed Larson for second. Schuchart moved into the top five on lap 16, passing Ca. Macedo, who had been battling his brother Cole for fifth. Schuchart then passed Co. Macedo for fourth on lap 19. On lap 20, Balog followed him into fifth. The first caution came on lap 24, when Sabo stopped on the backstretch. Balog also stopped with issues, surrendering fifth. The caution negated a Larson pass of Haudenschild for second, so on the restart, Kofoid led Haud, Larson, Schuchart, Ca. Macedo and Co. Macedo. Ca. Macedo jumped from fifth to third, while Schuchart was by Larson for fourth. On lap 26, Cap Henry and Balog flipped after contact. Schuchart and Ca. Macedo exchanged third after the restart. On lap 29, Larson dove from fifth to third,, still trailing Kofoid and Haudenschild. On lap 31, Haudenschild tagged Kofoid into a 360 with a slider. The caution came out, and Kofoid melded back into third after his spin. Haudenschild now led Ca. Macedo, Kofoid, a charging Schatz, Gravel and Larson. Schatz shot into third on the restart, before Kofoid reclaimed the spot on lap 34. With four to go, Haudenschild drove over the cushion in turn four, surrendering his shot at the win. Ca. Macedo now led Kofoid, Schatz, Gravel and Schuchart back to green. The lead trio remained the same, while Schuchart took fourth from Gravel with two to go. Schatz was the hard-charger after starting the night with an engine change after time trials.
