Saturday was Fast and Furious Fan Appreciation Night at Eagle Raceway, presented by A1 Iron. If this wasn’t the beginning of the dog days of summer, they can’t be too far off. But we dirt track fans never let a little heat and humidity stop us. A good-sized crowd showed up as all front gate admission prices were reduced and 135 teams were in the pits ready and raring to go. Where else would you rather be than at America’s Home Track??

There were no serious incidents in the preliminary events.

The finale was for the Nebraska Septic IMCA Racesaver Sprint Cars. They were the draw/redraw class for the night with an additional #2,500 added to the feature purse. It was $1,100 to win and $300 to start the A. Adam Gullion led lap 1 in the 91 with Brandon Horton’s 1B, the 32 of Trefer Waller and Stu Snyder’s 5 the top 4 on lap 1. Jack Thomas hit the turn 1 wall hard on lap 3 with his #63 making a slow easy roll onto its left side. The Choose Cone lineup was Gullion, Horton, Waller and Snyder. Snyder got past Waller on the restart for third with Cameron Thompson also passing Waller the next lap to put the 2T into fourth. Tyler Hendrickson’s 14T spun out in turn 1 on lap 7 with Jacob Dye’s 20D catching the Armco wall at the pit entrance and spinning to a stop just short of the fence guarding the pit area. The Choose Cone lineup was Gullion, Horton, Snyder and Waller. Billy Alley put his #11 into third on the restart with Waller retaining fourth place. Horton passed Gullion with 8 laps left but lost the position back to him the next time around. Cole Wayman moved past Waller with just 3 to go but Waller took the spot back out of turn 4 on the final circuit, making your top 4 Gullion, Horton, Alley and Waller.

Win #1 on the season for the former track champion. When I caught up with Adam after the races he managed to make me feel really old. I had joked with him about treating me like just another fan. He apologized saying “I’m sorry. I’ve known you most of my life. I’ve known you forever; since I was 18. I’m 39 and about to be 40 on Christmas Eve. This was my first this year. It should have been my fifth. I got my first sprint car when I was 16 and my first win here when I was 17. I did take one season off to get married and I’ve been running sprint cars ever since I started on the pole tonight, but the last few weeks I’ve been going 15th to second, 19th to second and 16th to second. We had a chance to win 2 weeks ago when I took the lead after starting 19th and the magneto died just as I took the lead. This place has owed me one this year but it’s owed me a lot more over the course of my career here.” Adam’s sponsors include Midwest Petroleum Equipment, Midwest Construction Solutions, Steve O, Ultrashield, Blood Performance Products, Maxim Chassis, Pro Shocks by MK, Brenning Painting, Big Pickle Trucking, Precise Roofing, Kansas Trophy Outfitters, Elevate Stand Co., Tornado Race Engines, Swirlfire Screen Printing, BK Motorsports and King Racing Products.

There are just 4 regular season races left in the 2025 racing year. Next Saturday is That 70’s Showdown, presented by Stumpy’s Custom Creations and Nebraska’s Best Lawn and Landscape. All 5 classes will be in action, including the A1 Iron IMCA Stock Cars, Avid Realty Sportmods, Nebraska’s Best Lawn and Landscape Modifieds, Valentino’s Hobby Stocks and Nebraska Septic Sprint Cars.

Also competing will be the Vessco IMCA Mod Lites with $1500 to win and $200 to start.
Grandstands open at 5:15, hot laps kick off at 5:45 with racing at 6:30. Adult front gate admission is $15, youths 6-12 just $5 and children 5 and under free.

The points battles in all classes are very tight, so you won’t want to miss a single minute of the high-pressure battles going on at Eagle Raceway!!!
