There's a new powerhouse in the sport of Sprint Car Racing and it's a teenager from Oklahoma paired up with a car owner from South Dakota.
After dominating the Knoxville Nationals and winning the Huset's Speedway track championship in August, Ryan Timms started September by driving the Shane Liebig No. 10 to his latest career-defining accomplishment - winning the Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway.
The 19-year-old stud came from the eighth starting spot in Saturday's 50-lap finale and made his way to the third spot by Lap 17 when he joined an early fight for the lead with Justin Peck and Parker Price-Miller. That trio delivered a thrilling end to the opening half, almost going three-wide for the lead, before the halfway open red set the stage for the final 25 laps.
Acing the final restart with 25 to go, Timms whipped by Peck on the restart and saying he never looked back would be an understatement. The Oklahoma City, OK native drove away to a 7.265-second margin of victory - the largest in Kubota High Limit Racing history.
Within the last month, Timms has won his first Knoxville Nationals, first World of Outlaws race, first track championship, first Kubota High Limit Racing race, first Port Royal Speedway, and first Tuscarora 50 title.
At 19-years-old, Timms joins an elite list that only Kenny Weld (1973) and Doug Wolfgang (1984-85) share with him - being the only drivers in the history of Sprint Car Racing to win Knoxville and the Tusky in the same season.
Timms' $58,000 score was his 17th overall win of 2025 and pushes the teenager north of $400k in earnings this year alone.
For the second-straight week, Justin Peck and the Rudeen Racing No. 26 finished second-place after leading laps from the pole during a Kubota High Limit Racing major - last week at the Skagit Nationals, now Tuscarora 50. His runner-up run paid out $25,000 at Port Royal Speedway.
A 10th-to-3rd drive for Aaron Reutzel rounded out the podium with a $10,000 check and more importantly, it delivered the eight championship lead change of the year with Kubota High Limit Racing - as the Ridge & Sons Racing #87 overtook the Rico Abreu Racing #24 by 21-points.
Closing out the top-10 in the Tuscarora 50 was Parker Price-Miller, Troy Wagaman Jr, Logan Wagner, Danny Dietrich, Chase Dietz, Brent Marks, and Ryan Smith.
