Late action in the heats set up a 30-lap thriller. J. Johnson took off to an early lead over fellow front row starter W. Johnson. Brown was quickly in third from eighth. Lasoski got by Brown on lap four for third, and by W. Johnson for second a lap later. At that time, Wood spun, setting up a restart that saw J. Johnson leading Lasoski, W. Johnson, Brown and Dover. Brown took over third two laps later, as the action heated up with Lasoski pressuring J. Johnson and Brown and W. Johnson going at it. Meanwhile, Loyet moved into fifth and Alley and Forler battled for sixth. Loyet moved into fourth on lap ten and Alley followed him into fifth as Martens brought out a caution when he stopped on the frontstretch. After the green fell, Laoski pressure J. Johnson and got under him for the lead to complete lap 13. Three laps later J. Johnson cut a brake line and spun out of second. Brown trailed Lasoski on the restart. Loyet was now third ahead of a dueling Alley and W. Johnson. A second Wood spin with two laps to go, set up a Dash for the finish. Lasoski pulled away for the win ahead of Brown and Loyet. Forler made a late charge for fourth, and Alley made a last corner pass of W. Johnson to round out the top five. Herrera salvaged a tough night and was hard-charger, getting by 11 cars. J. Johnson recovered from the tail for an eighth place finish.
