Brian Brown – FVP Outlaw Showdown in Vegas this Weekend!

Tuesday, March 1, 2016
(Bill W) March 1, 2015 – Brian Brown and the Casey’s General Stores/FVP #21 team will be invading The Dirt Track in Las Vegas for the FVP Outlaw Showdown this weekend.  The team will be racing with the World of Outlaws on the west coast through their FVP Western Spring Shootout in Stockton, California.

I know it’s always special racing at the FVP Outlaw Showdown in Vegas.

Vegas is normally pretty good to us.  We’re looking forward to getting out there.  FVP is the presenting sponsor, so they’ll be bringing their employees and customers out.  That adds a little extra incentive to run well.  Anytime we can get in front of their customers and employees and thank them for what they do, it makes for a great night.

You’ve had some shots at a win out there the last few years.

The last two or three years, we’ve had the opportunity to win at least one of the two nights we’ve been out there.  We ran second there last year.  Chad (Morgan), Wyatt (Burks) and Michael Williams have been doing a phenomenal job in the shop.  At this point, we’ve got some cabin fever.  We’re ready to get at it.

With these extended trips away from the shop in Missouri, you’ve got to pack the trailer for the long haul.

You have to be prepared that’s for sure.  We’ll race through the FVP Shootout at Stockton with the Outlaws.  To be gone for three weeks you have to be organized and make sure you have all the things you think you could need.  Hopefully, you don’t need all of it, but you have to have it with you.

After Stockton, you head back into action pretty quickly here in the Midwest.

We have a short turnaround when we get back.  We’ll have to be in Wichita on Thursday or Friday, so you have to be prepared for that as well.  We’re prepared on both ends of it.  I’m really proud of the team as an owner…proud of all the hard work they’ve put in.

You seem excited to start a new race season!

I think this is as solid a team as we’ve had going into a season.  Chad is obviously the backbone of that.  We’re just looking forward to seeing where we stack up.  We’ve still got our Maxim cars, Garrett engines, Vortex Wings, Weld Wheels and Champion Oil for our engines.  All of our great partners are back with us, and we’re looking forward to having a great season in 2016.
