Brady Bacon – Fast with the WoO Again at Placerville!

Monday, March 28, 2016
(Bill W) March 28, 2016 – Brady Bacon and the Josh Ford Racing #73 team kept up their pace with the World of Outlaws again last Wednesday at Placerville Speedway in California.  The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma driver timed in well again and made the Dash before a feature incident sent him to the tail.  This weekend, Brady is looking for some Friday action in his own #99 winged car, while USAC sprint cars and the Hoffman Racing #69 team are back underway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana on Saturday.  Sunday will find Brady in USAC Silver Crown competition at the Terre Haute Action Track.

He timed in eighth quick with the Outlaws in Placerville Wednesday.  “We were able to keep our momentum up from Tulare,” says Brady.  “We were able to finish second in the heat, and made the Dash.  We really were fast all night.”

Brady would start eighth in the Dash.  “We didn’t get the big invert we needed in the Dash,” he says.  “We ran seventh.  We were right there speed-wise with everyone else though.”

He would run well in the main event.  “We were right there in seventh or eighth in the feature for most of the race,” says Brady.  “The track worked in and we were running seventh.  We had a good race going.  I tried to get by David Gravel for sixth.  Someone got jumbled up off of two down the backstretch.  Going into three, I couldn’t get slowed up.  My right front caught a left rear and I spun around.”

Once at the tail, Brady moved into an 18th place finish.  “It was hard to get the speed back up,” he says.  “You just couldn’t make up ground starting in the back like that.  It’s hard for anyone to make progress back there.  Our results definitely didn’t match the speed we had.  We’ve made a ton of strides from where we were last year.  I’m really excited about that.  That gives us confidence heading back to the Midwest as well.”

In the support USAC West Coast midget event, Brady won his heat and finished seventh in the main event.  “We got caught up in traffic in the feature and spun out,” he says.  “Then we had a brake issue after that.  I think we got back up to seventh.  They were running a quick show and we were busy and doing well with the wing car.  The midget kind of got put on the backburner for us to be honest.”

He's looking forward to a busy weekend in three different cars.  “We’re excited to get the USAC stuff going again this weekend,” says Brady.  “I’m going to try and run my car somewhere on Friday.  We may go to Attica (Ohio), it just depends on if the weather cooperates.”
