Jac Haudenschild (13th car out to time) set quick time and a new track record on the half-mile at 15.787 seconds.  It was Jac’s first night in the Stenhouse/Wood Racing #17 after Joey Saldana was let go.  Shane Stewart (5th car out) was second quick, followed by Brad Sweet (22nd), Carson McCarl (1st) in his first 410 start, Ian Madsen (10th), Jason Johnson (20th), Daryn Pittman (26th), Brian Brown (9th), Danny Lasoski (27th) and Kraig Kinser (4th).  Clyde Knipp had an oil line come loose and only got one lap in.

A problem with the fuel at the track delayed things while teams made sure they did not have fuel that would compromise their motors.  That took about 45 minutes to rectify, and we raced on in front of a packed house.

T. McCarl leading Nienhiser, Wilson, RJ Johnson, Miller and Knipp.  Knipp and Mincer would cruise under Miller when the green fell again, grabbing the last two transfer spots.  On lap seven, Nienhiser rode the cushion around T. McCarl for the lead.  Wilson and T. McCarl battled for second, exchanging the spot a couple of times.  When T. McCarl slowed coming for the checkers, Wilson would grab the spot.

Sweet hit the low side of turn one on the start of the 25-lapper and got by both front row starters.  That would be called back, however, when C. McCarl spun.  Stewart took advantage of his second chance, leading J. Johnson and Sweet.  By lap nine, Pittman had moved by S. Haudenschild for fifth.  By lap ten, rubber in the track was evident.  Sweet pounced on J. Johnson, taking second when he slid up the track on lap 12.  A lap later, Madsen had too much momentum and struck J. Johnson, sending him into a 360.  Madsen careened into the wall in turn four.  J. Johnson kept it going and kept his spot.  Officials deemed all restarts single-file due to track conditions.  Stewart would hold the point the rest of the way.  Two more cautions flew.  Schuchart went up in smoke on lap 15.  That gave Schatz a chance to move by S. Haudenschild after a good battle for fifth.  Knipp brought the last yellow flag, when he stopped on lap 18.  Stewart led the rest of the way to record his third win of the year.  Marks was the hard-charger.
