Things started well at Jacksonville.  “We were able to win the heat, and that felt good,” says Bailey.  “That got us off to a good start for the night.”

Despite a challenging racing surface, Bailey held her own with her fourth place finish.
“Unfortunately, the track didn’t lend to much passing in the feature,” she says.  “The groove was right through the middle.  The bottom was dry-slick, but there was a big ledge on the cushion.  You couldn’t get on it, or it would upset the car.  It was a little disappointing, because we had a really good car.”

Last Saturday, Bailey finished third in her heat in West Burlington.  “We ended up in the back of the feature,” she says.  “We found the rubber, and we were picking off a couple of cars.  We got out of the groove and lost a couple spots at one point.”

She would work her way into the top ten at one point.  “The tire was completely worn out by the end,” says Bailey.  “It looked like a drag racing tire.  That didn’t help us, and we ended up eleventh.  We had gotten as high as seventh or eighth and with the tire, we ended up losing a couple of spots.  We didn’t tear anything up, so that was the good news.”

Bailey is excited about getting back to Jacksonville and 34.  “It will be good to get a couple of races in this weekend,” she says.  “We’re looking forward to getting back to Jacksonville and Burlington.”
