Josh at Knoxville (Chuck Stowe Images)Josh at Knoxville (Chuck Stowe Images) (Bill W) June 26, 2017 – Josh Schneiderman and the Deuce Motorsports #49 team were in the same boat as everyone Saturday night at Knoxville Raceway.  There just wasn’t much opportunity to move up come feature time.  Still, the West Burlington, Iowa native finished the evening with a top ten finish and sits ninth in the point standings after Mid-Season Championship Night.  The team will be back at Knoxville this Saturday night.

After having some engine issues the previous week, Josh timed in ninth quick Saturday.  “We were really pretty happy with ninth quick,” he says.  “We hurt a motor two weeks ago, and we had our little motor.  Even though the track conditions were less than ideal, you still need motor to get the car around the top.  We were pretty happy with that.”
He would come home fifth in his heat.  “We really were pretty quick,” says Josh.  “I bobbled in three on the first lap, and a couple cars got back by us.  Ultimately, we fell into line and finished fifth.”

The track was uncharacteristically dry all night and seemed doomed to lay rubber in the feature. “We were talking and I told our team I thought the rubber would come about lap 14,” says Josh.  “I had the ‘4’ right, because it came in about lap four.  We just fell in line and waited for someone to mess up.  That happened, and we were able to move up a couple spots.”

After starting twelfth, Josh would finish tenth.  “The McCarl’s (Austin and Terry) were sixth and seventh, and I saw them 90% of the race,” he says.  “We weren’t that bad.  There’s just nowhere to go on a track like that.  It’s really frustrating, but there’s nothing you can do about it.  A track like that isn’t good for anyone.  We’re burning tires, and the fans are getting dusted all night.  But I’m sure they’ll get it figured out this week.”
