Dusty Zomer (5th car out to time) set quick time on a cool night at 14.699 seconds. Terry McCarl (17th car out) was second quick, followed by Davey Heskin (27th), Kerry Madsen (1st), Ryan Anderson (10th), Bronson Maeschen (20th), Jesse Giannetto (22nd), Johnny Herrera (2nd), Seth Brahmer (6th) and Austin McCarl (8th). Billy Alley, Kaley Gharst and Robert Bell suffered motor problems and didn't get a time in. All scratched for the night.

Zomer launched into the lead in the 8-lapper following a daring move around the top from row three on lap one. Madsen made steady progress forward on the bottom, while Weuve was able to steal the last transfer from A. McCarl.

Great racing for the lead between Herrera and Dobmeier. Dobmeier led until the completion fo lap six. Landis made a late move to get by Droud Jr. for the final transfer, then passed Bruce with two to go for fourth.

Brown led, but Jeffrey took command after a strong run on the bottom with two to go. W. Johnson brought out the only caution of the heats after a lap was complete, after a rough start.

Heskin led throughout. Droud Jr. had a strong start to move into third, and eventually get by Anderson. W. Johnson moved by A. McCarl to grab the final transfer, until Giannetto retired smoking with two to go while holding down fourth. A. McCarl held off Schneiderman for the final transfer.

Brahmer elected to start at the tail. Phillips jumped out to an early lead in the 20-lapper from the pole. Crocker made contact with the turn four wall early and exited. T. McCarl, who moved up a row after Brahmer headed to the tail shot towards the front and was bearing down on Phillips when the caution came out for a spun Landis in turn one. The restart saw Phillips and T. McCarl ahead of Herrera, Bruce Jr. and Jeffrey. T. McCarl slid by Phillips in turn two on the restart, and began to pull away. Jeffrey worked his way by Bruce Jr. as well. On lap 16, A. McCarl came to a stop, bringing the last caution. T. McCarl led Phillips, Herrera, Jeffrey and Bruce Jr. back to green. Herrera worked his way under Phillips into second, extending his point lead over Brown, who drove into the top five at the end. W. Johnson was the hard-charger, moving forward seven spots. The win was T. McCarl's 47th at Knoxville, and was worth $3,000.

Shirshekan led early before a lap seven spin for Hunt. Hunt spun right in front of leaders Shirshekan and Lenz, but disaster was avoided. Shirshekan led Larnz, Anderson, Heskin and Bickett back to green flag racing. Phillips had worked his way up to seventh by the restart, but ended up smoking heavily, one spot out of a transfer after starting at the tail. Lenz grabbed the lead with two to go, but Shirshekan came back to win it in a wild one.

Agan grabbed the early lead in the 15-lapper. Selvage worked under Cornell into secon dbefore a lap five stoppage for RJ Johnson, who would retire. Selvage worked the high side to try to get around Agan, but couldn't get it done before a lap eight stoppage for a smoking Moore Jr., who was running fourth at the time (from 10th). Agan led Selvage, Cornell, Moro and Bakker back to green flag racing. Selvage used the restart to slingshot around Agan, and start to pull away from the field. Garner continued a surge, moving by Moro into fourth. As he was taking the white flag, Selvage's side panel on the right side of the top wing ripped off and headed into the flagstand, striking Justin Clark, who hit the deck. The red was thrown, and Justin collected himself and continued on after some medical attention. Selvage held on without the sideboard, and made weight to score his third career Knoxville win, sharing a laugh with Justin Clark in VL. Garner was the hard-charger, advancing ten spots.

Contact from Ryun's right rear to Stelzer's left front sent the #99 into a series of wild tumbles down the backstretch. Stelzer was uninjured, but done for the night. Ryun's left rear tire would later fly off.

Huston led lap one, before Marty Stephenson took over. A lap later, brother Matt was in second, and on lap four, took the lead for good in teh 12-lapper. The Stephenson brothers broke away from the pack, and were close in lapped traffic, before Matt pulled away for his second win of the season at Knoxville. The battle was tight for third, with Palmer eding out hard-charger Phillips and Kubli in the non-stop event.
