The race was on for the fourth and final transfer. Phillips worked past Schneiderman early on. Ellenberger made a late surge, passing Schneiderman for fifth with three to go, and eking by Phillips in the last corner for fourth.

Saldana took the point early in the 35-lapper with McCarl in tow. Schatz was quickly into third, and soon disposed of T. McCarl. Maeschen spun on lap eight bringing out a caution. Before another lap could be completed, Dollansky lost his right rear tire and made heavy contact with the turn three wall. He was uninjured, but done. On the restart, Saldana led Schatz, T. McCarl, Meyers and Kaeding back to green flag racing. Within four laps, Schatz used the bottom to move by Saldana into the lead. The two diced into heavy lapped traffic. Bruce Jr. made contact with the frontstretch wall on lap 24, bringing out another caution. It was a break for Saldana, who got sideways above the cushion behind a lapped car, and lost a lot of ground. Now Schatz led Saldana, T. McCarl, Haudenschild and Kaeding back to green. Haudenschild had motored by T. McCarl, but got over the berm, losing several spots on lap 27. W. Johnson restarted 14th, but began to surge forward, cracking the top ten. On lap 31, he drove over turn two and into the pit entrance ending his race. On lap 32, Saldana stormed back around Schatz to take the lead for good. The race would have one more slowdown. Haftertepe Jr. spun on lap 33. Tatnell was the hard-charger, moving forward 12 spots.
