Greider led the first three laps ahead of Loyet, while Morgan and Agan traded third in the 12-lapper.  Loyet shot to the point using the cushion on lap four.  Greider was faithful to the bottom on a well prepared track, and held off Agan in traffic.  Morgan held onto the last transfer by the skin of his teeth.

Hahn led the 30-lapper early over Brown and Madsen.  The leaders were in lapped traffic by lap six.  The cushion was steep and close to the wall, especially in one and two.  Reutzel surged and took third from Madsen on lap nine.  He ran down Brown and passed him for second on lap 15.  Brown got his elbows up and dove back under Reutzel on the next lap.  He then reeled in Hahn and passed him, but it was negated when the caution was brought out for Baughman with 17 laps down.  Though the leaders passed the finish line, ASCS rules require all cars to complete a lap.  It's also one of the last series to include lapped cars in the lineup and J. Russell was placed between Hahn and Brown.  Hahn led Brown, Reutzel, Madsen and a charging Herrera back to green.  Reutzel’s bid for a slidejob fell short, and Herrera surged from fifth to third.  With 21 laps down, Loyet got into the turn two wall and flipped.  The accident collected Bellm.  Both drivers were o.k.  Hahn led Brown, Herrera, Madsen and Reutzel back to green with nine laps to go.  Brown hounded the leader before performing a slide job to take the point on lap 24.  Hahn held second over Herrera and Madsen.  Lasoski claimed fifth on the last lap ahead of Bergman, who joined him as hard-chargers from row eight.  The win was Brown’s first ever at Lakeside.

Babb led early over Kitchen and Daum in the 25-lapper.  Kreigel used the cushon to pass Daum and move into the top three on lap three.  Kitchen took the lead from Babb on lap four as the pair fought for the point.  Illinois veteran Babb took the lead back on lap six, and Moore moved by Kitchen for second on lap seven in a feature with plenty of close racing.  The pair battled for the runner-up spot and Kitchen took it back on lap 13.  A lap later, Muths would flip on the front stretch, bringing out the red flag.  He was unhurt.  The restart saw Babb leading Kitchen, Moore, Boyles and Kreigel.  Before another lap could get completed, Burks would come to a stop and exit on the hook.  Boyles shot into third when the green fell again.  He would then take second from Kitchen on lap 19.  Johnson would flip hard in turn three on lap 21.  He was uninjured as well.  Babb led Boyles, Kitchen, Kreigel and Reutzel back to green.  Kreigel passed Kitchen for third on the restart right before disaster struck the leader Babb, who had a right rear wheel break.  Boyles assumed the lead and would not relinquish it.  Kreigel finished second ahead of Kitchen, who was later DQed for being light at the scales.  Reutzel inherited third ahead of Thoman and Daum.
