On Friday, Wayne started third in his heat before surging to the win at Cotton Bowl Speedway.  “We were able to get that heat race win,” he says.  “I do like that track.  It really caters to the better driver more than anything.”

The Oklahoma City native drew a three to start the main event.  “We just had the car way too tight for the feature,” says Wayne.  “We couldn’t rotate the corners.  We ended up backing it up to sixth.  There was nothing spectacular there, we were just hanging on.  I just overdid it and we were tight.”

The series moved to Bronco Raceway Park on Saturday.  “The track was just flooded with water,” says Wayne.  “We started eighth in the heat and ran sixth.  We were able to get through the B there and ran second.”

Wayne would start 18th in the feature.  “We were able to get up to 13th,” he says.  “I made a misjudgment and ran a car over.  I thought I had cleared him, but the next thing I knew I was busting my ass.  Our car was junk.  This week we’re putting another one together for ‘the Ditch’.”

The “Rock ‘N Roll 50” features a 50-lap finale on a sticky bullring.  “We always seem to go pretty well there,” says Wayne.  “We landed on the podium at this race last year, and we’d like to climb a couple more spots.  It’s one of those historical places that you want to do well at.”
