Sprint Invaders

Heat one (started): 1. Dustin Selvage 7 (1) 2. Josh Schneiderman 49 (3) 3. Jarod Smith 24 (2) 4. Matt Harms 53H (5) 5. Bobby Mincer 15 (7) / 6. Bart Andrews 9x (4) 7. Ryan Jamison 51J (9) 8. Korey Weyant 99w (8) 9. Matt Rogerson 29 (6)

Selvage led the 10 lap distance.  The track was heavy all night and yielded little passing in this one.  The heats took the top two to the dash and the top five to the feature.

Heat two (started): 1. Billy Alley 1m (2) 2. Kaley Gharst 3* (5) 3. John Schulz 2 (1) 4. Rager Phillips 14P (4) 5. Russ Hall 29x (6) / 6. Nick Eastin 22x (8) 7. Mark Tischer 4m (7) 8. Joe Beaver 53 (3)

Alley dominated, winning going away.  On lap two, Gharst and Beaver contacted.  Beaver suffered significant damage but scrambled to make it back for the B.  Gharst’s charge into second was the move of the heat.  Tischer exited on lap nine.

Heat three (started): 1. Lance Gullo 3G (2) 2. Jordan Goldesberry 65 (3) 3. Manny Rockhold 99 (1) 4. Matt Sutton 3 (4) 5. Jerrod Hull 12 (5) / 6. Justin Newberry 36 (8) 7. Brian Stansberry 70 (7) 8. Daniel Avery 18A (6)

Gullo led flag to flag.  The best racing was between Rockhold and Goldesberry for second.  Rockhold held the spot the distance until he tried a move on the leader in the final corner.  Getting up in the rough stuff allowed Goldesberry to grab the dash spot.

Dash (started): 1. Gravy Alley (1) 2. Gullo (2) 3. Gharst (5) 4. Goldesberry (3) 5. Schneiderman (6) 6. Selvage (4)

Alley won by nearly half a lap in the 6 lapper.

B main (started): 1. Eastin (2) 2. Jamison (4) 3. Beaver (10) 4. Andrews (1) 5. Rogerson (8) / 6. Weyant (7) 7. Newberry (3) 8. Tischer (5) 9. Stansberry (6) 10. Avery (9)

Eastin led the 12 lap duration.  Beaver passed six cars on lap one to take fourth, and was third by lap two, using the high side of the heavy track.

A main (started): 1. Gharst (5) 2. Alley (3) 3. Schneiderman (1) 4. Goldesberry (6) 5. Schulz (8) 6. Gullo (4) 7. Sutton (12) 7. Hall (14) 9. Phillips (9) 10. Eastin (16) 11. Harms (10) 12. Beaver (18) 13. Mincer (11) 14. Jamison (15) 15. Rogerson (20) 16. Weyant (19) 17. Rockhold (7) 18. Hull (13) 19. Andrews (17) 20. Selvage (2) DNS – J. Smith

Before a lap could be completed, Selvage jumped the turn three berm and flipped in the choppy stuff.  He was uninjured.  Schneiderman jumped out to the early lead in the 25 lapper with Alley in tow.  On lap five, Andrews came to a stop bringing out a caution.  Hull also exited at this time.  Schneiderman led Alley, Gharst, Gullo and Goldesberry back to green flag racing.  On the restart, Gharst used the low side to shoot under Alley for second.  Alley jumped the cushion in turn three shortly thereafter and lost quite a bit of ground on the leaders.  On lap nine, Gharst was able to take the point when Schneiderman hesitated behind a lapped car.  Gharst quickly put some distance between himself and Schneiderman, as he diced through traffic.  Alley began to reel in the second place car, but the rest of the race went non-stop, giving him no shot at the leader.  On the last lap, he ducked under Schneiderman to finish in the runner-up position.

305s

Heat one (started): 1. Tasker Phillips 7 (7) 2. Monte Hill 48 (3) 3. Chad Huston 7H (6) 4. Ryan Jamison 78 (5) 5. Mike Mayberry 0 (4) 6. Logan Trueblood 22 (2) 7. Cale Hutchings 87 (8) 8. Mark Widmar 7w (1)

Widmar exited with motor problems on the first lap.  Hill took over the early lead in the 8 lapper.  He was passed by Phillips on the third go-around.  Phillips used the high side of the super-fast racetrack to quickly move forward and pull away.  The top four qualified for the feature redraw.

Heat two (started): 1. Steve Breazeale 66 (1) 2. Louis Lynch 71 (4) 3. Dustin Whiting 6x (3) 4. Marty Stephenson 36 (5) 5. Nate Van Haaften 63 (2) 6. Mitchell Alexander 6 (6) DNS - Taylor Walton 93

Walton's motor went up in smoke in hot laps.  Breazeale led flag to flag.  Van Haaften and Alexander retired on lap five.  Lynch moved into second putting all four wheels above the cushion in turns one and two.

Heat three (started): 1. Bob Lamb 47 (2) 2. Matt Stephenson 55 (1) 3. Josh Padellford 34 (5) 4. Scott Boles 4B (3) 5. Daniel Bergquist 35 (7) 6. Frank Rodgers 11 (4) 7. Rob Kubli 23K (6)

Kubli made contact with Rodgers right rear in turn one after the green fell, and took a hard tumble.  He was uninjured, but done for the night.  Rodgers retired with damage to the right rear.  Lamb led flag to flag once the green fell in a mostly single-file event.

A main (started): 1. T. Phillips (8) 2. Padellford (6) 3. Lamb (5) 4. Matt Stephenson (12) 5. Widmar (20) 6. Huston (10) 7. Hill (3) 8. Whiting (7) 9. Trueblood (16) 10. Boles (4) 11. Rodgers (18) 12. Bergquist (15) 13. Jamison (2) 14. Alexander (17) 15. Mayberry (13) 16. Van Haaften (14) 17. Breazeale (11) 18. Hutchings (19) 19. Lynch (9) 20. Marty Stephenson (1) DNS - Kubli, Walton

Marty Stephenson elected to start at the rear, and retired after one lap.  The 25 lapper began with a battle for the lead won by Hill.  On lap two, Padellford used the high side of one and two to take the point.  T. Phillips was into third by lap one, and had the lead for himself on lap five.  Three laps later, Hutchings would stop bringing caution.  At the time, T. Phillips led Padellford, Lamb, Hill and Mayberry, who was on the move.  T. Phillips again pulled away, and was negotiating traffic with ease.  On lap fourteen, Mayberry had something in the suspension break.  Creating a dangerous situation by trying to turn into the infield in front of traffic, he was T-boned by Van Haaften, who had nowhere to go and was not pleased with the stunt.  Now T. Phillips led Padellford, Hill, Lamb and Huston back to green flag racing.  It was clear sailing for T. Phillips until one last caution came out as he saw the checkers.  This time, it was Jamison who had stopped.  He was able to hold on in the green, white, checker finish for his first career win and $1,500.  His 15th birthday occured about a month ago!  Widmar earned hard-charger honors moving up 15 spots.
