At Plymouth on Friday, Brady timed in 12th quick with the WoO, putting him outside row two for the heat.  “We were right there with Daryn (Pittman) and Joey (Saldana),” he says.  “The car fast, it was just hard to pass.  We were right there.  Finishing third improved our starting spot in the feature though.”

He would start inside row five and began moving forward.  “We were running pretty well,” says Brady.  “We were seventh or eighth and getting ready to move up.  We were racing with David Gravel, and we lost a motor.  That was obviously not ideal, but it was pretty encouraging to have a fast car capable of a top five.”

Brady and the Frank Manafort Racing #76m midget team also competed at Plymouth in the USAC Indiana Series.  “We were really good in the heat (after starting sixth),” he says.  “We were able to get through there and get by Tanner Thorson on the last lap for the win.  We led the first little bit of the feature, and then there was a red.  My tires changed quite a bit at that point.  We lost an inch and a half of stagger.  It got a little tight and I hit an infield tire and dropped back a couple of spots.  I was racing with (Dave) Darland there and got crossed up and spun in a fight for the bottom.  I went to the tail and came back to eighth in seven or eight laps.”

The team used Friday as preparation for a busy upcoming USAC National Midget Series schedule.  “With this new car and team, we’re still trying to get our ducks in a row,” says Brady.  “This was a good race to do that.  The Toyota is running really well; we just have to get some fine details worked out to go for the USAC championship.  We better have things lined up, because Indiana Midget week is next on the schedule.  I’m excited for it.  We have a great team.”

After a motor change, Brady was back in his #99 at Haubstadt with WoO Saturday.  “We qualified sixth, which wasn’t as good as we’d hoped,” he says.  “We had been quickest in hot laps.  We were right there in line with everyone else, but we didn’t get that super-good lap.”

He would start outside row one in his heat.  “We got to (Kerry) Madsen, but couldn’t quite get by him,” says Brady.  “They worked the track before the heats and it was a little narrow.  We started sixth in the Dash and ran fifth.  We were one of the fastest cars.   Starting in the back, we had to work the bottom and the middle trying to make something happen.  If we could have gotten to fourth, it may have made things a little easier in the feature.”

Brady would start inside row three of the main event.  “We started picking them off one by one,” he says.  “We got by Donny (Schatz), and into fourth.  We were able to get by Parker Price-Miller for third, we were able to get by Madsen pretty quickly and run down (leader) Gravel.”

He would eventually challenge the leader, but ran out of laps.  “We were able to get to him, get beside him, get outside of him and the inside of him,” says Brady.  “We just weren’t able to get by him.  We got pinched by a couple of lapped cars and had to catch back up a couple times.  I think we had the fastest car, we just didn’t have that opportunity to get the lead.  We were in position, but the opportunity never came.”

This weekend, he’ll be back in the Hoffman Racing #69 with the USAC National Sprint Car Series as they hit Gas City and Brownstown in Indiana.
