Josh would sneak into the heat invert by timing in 18th quick Saturday.  “We’re gaining ground,” he says.  “We’re looking for that extra two-tenths, which isn’t a lot at Knoxville.  We’re heading in the right direction.”

He would start on the pole of his heat, and come home third.  “It’s a lot nicer to race from the front, that’s a fact,” says Josh.  “The car is racing really well.  I should have stayed on the bottom of the track in all four corners.  We probably would have won the heat.  After I was passed for the lead, I was just kind of searching around.  That let (Dusty) Zomer get by.  Overall, we were pretty happy with the heat run.”

Josh would start 16th in the main event and finish 14th.  “We were able to get up to eleventh or twelfth in the feature there,” he says.  “I got to racing with (Mark) Dobmeier and missed my mark.  That allowed he and Tasker (Phillips) to get back by.  We were good though.  A couple cautions helped us, and a couple hurt us.  That’s the way it goes sometimes.”

The team will be getting some laps in preparation for Saturday’s NSL show.  “We’re going to be doing some practicing at Knoxville on Friday,” says Josh.  “We’re looking to improve that little bit in time trials.  We’re going in the right direction and we’re pleased with the progress.  Last week was a stepping stone.  We didn’t lose our speed overnight, and we’re not going to gain it overnight either, but we’ll get there!”
