Landis led the 8 lapper flag to flag in a mostly single-file event.  D. Howard exited on lap two.

Jeffrey led the distance in a typical single-file Friday heat race.

Ellenberger led throughout.  D. Jacobs added some excitement by shooting to the inside of Hull and Shepherd to take third.  Higday exited with a smoking motor on lap six.

Heat four (started): 1. Jesse Hockett 75x (1) 2. Dion Hindi 11D (4) 3. Brock Mayes 11B (6) 4. Chris Walraven 56 (2) / 5. Justin Henderson D1x (3) 6. Randy Anderson 81 (5) 7. Rich Bubak 9x (7) 8. Dan Shetler 98 (8)

Henderson grabbed the early lead and checked out on the field.  A lap seven stoppage for a stalled Shetler, also saw the leader go to the work area with a flat left rear.  Hockett assumed the lead ahead of Hindi, Walraven, Mayes and Ra. Anderson.  Henderson had two laps to get back into a transfer, but had the door shut on him by Walraven on the low side of turn one on the white flag lap.

Heat five (started): 1. Jason Martin 36 (2) 2. Clint Garner 40 (1) 3. Robert Ballou 12x (4) 4. Matt Moro 47 (3) / 5. Jake Peters 57x (6) 6. John Lambertz 12L (5) 7. Toni Lutar 4x (7) 8. Greg Jones 3J (8)

J. Martin shot out to an early lead and dusted the field.  The best heat racing of the night saw Moro and Peters battled for the last transfer over the course of the event.  A side by side drag race to the checkers saw Moro edge Peters by .016 of a second.

B main (started): 1. Henderson (4) 2. D. Smith (1) 3. Hirst (6) 4. Mosher (2) / 5. Shepherd (8) 6. St. Arnold (11) 7. Ra. Anderson (9) 8. Hunter (12) 9. B. Anderson (7) 10. Hillier (16) 11. D. Smith led lap one, but was quickly bested by Henderson on lap two.  Mosher and Shepherd held down the final transfers until Hirst and Peters entered the fray.  Both disposed of Shepherd to battle for the final transfer in the 12 lapper.  On lap 10, the two contacted, with Peters breaking his right front in the contact, sending him pitside.  Henderson led D. Smith, Mosher, Hirst and Shepherd back to green, white, checker.  Hirst made a pass of Mosher, the only move in the top five.  Brey exited on lap four.

Moro flipped on the initial green in the 20 lapper.  He was unhurt.  Landis jumped out to an early lead on the fast, yet racy surface, with Jeffrey in two.  The two approached lap traffic by the eighth go-around and Jeffrey got by for the lead two circuits later.  One lap later, Meyer stopped on lap 11.  The restart saw Jeffrey leading Landis, Hockett, Ellenberger and J. Martin.  After a false start, Landis shot into a lead he would not relinquish.  Henderson moved up from 13th on the restart to sixth at the checkers, earning hard-charger honors.  The win was Landis's second at Knoxville and paid the Arizona transplant $5000.

C Scramble (started): 1. Jon Corbin 33c (1) 2. Jac Haudenschild 35 (5) 3. PJ Chesson 55K (6) 4. Lance Dewease 25 (7) 5. Jason Sides 7s (4) 6. Brooke Tatnell 8 (10) 7. Trevor Green 11AU (3) 8. Dennis Moore Jr. 35m (8) 9. Rager Phillips 10 (9) 10. Luke Cranston 44x (2)

Corbin led flag to flag in the 12 lapper to earn $3000. Tatnell earned the pole position for Saturday's C, by moving up four spots.  He'll be joined in row one by Chesson, who drove a steady race in third.  Dewease was also impressive, running the bottom.

B Scramble (started): 1. Gary Wright 9w (1) 2. Chad Kemenah 15K (2) 3. Shane Stewart 26 (4) 4. Brian Brown 21 (10) 5. Terry McCarl 24x (5) 6. Brandon Wimmer 7TW (3) 7. Travis Rilat 29 (7) 8. Jeff Shepard 4J (8) 9. Randy Hannagan 1x (6) 10. Jonathan Allard 0 (9)

Wright led the 12 lap duration tallying $5000.  Brown was the man on the move, staging a torrid duel with McCarl for a couple of laps.  Brown moved forward six spots assuring himself of the B main pole on Saturday.  Despite a 10th place finish, Allard will start beside him.

A lap one fracas between Dollansky and Rahmer resulted in a broken front end and a trip to the pits for Dollansky.  Rahmer continued, but was not competitive.  Droud took charge in the Pace 44 and dominated for $7000.  Schatz was the man on the move, ensuring himself of the pole for the A on Saturday night.  He'll be joined by 2006 Kings Royal champ Joey Saldana.

Little exited early.  Tatnell dominated the 16 lapper to become the first foreign driver to earn a World Challenge win since 1998.  The win paid him $10,000.  Kemenah trailed him for much of the contest, but Brown passed him with two to go for the runner-up position and Schatz got by on the last lap for third.Schmelzle exited on lap seven.  Dollansky went pitside while smoking on lap 11 to end a rough night.
