Dale Blaney (9th car out to time) shaved almost .4 seconds off of Joey Saldana’s seven year old track record in time trials with a lap of 12.899 seconds on the semi-banked 3/8 mile surface. Paul McMahan (25th car out) was second quick, followed by Brock Mayes (12th), Ed Lynch Jr. (20th), Rob Chaney (3rd), Brian Paulus (22nd), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (30th), Greg Wilson (29th), Tim Hunter (36th) and Chad Blonde (1st). Sprinkles delayed the night getting underway, but the track held during time trials pretty well. Dean Jacobs motor problems forced him to scratch for the night. Chaney was in the Blaney 10 with an interesting front end on the car resembling a supermodified.

Bliesner got over the turn one berm and came to a stop bringing caution. At the time, Meyers led Hunter, Chaney, Blaney and D. Smith back to green. Palker worked his way up to sixth and challenged for a transfer until getting over the berm for a second time on lap eight.

Mintz jumped out to the point, but was immediately under siege from May, who overtook him on lap six. Mosher spun on lap eight, bringing caution.

Blonde led Mintz, Stinson, Stenhouse and Mayes at the time. One more lap was in the books when Wimmer spun. Stenhouse worked around Stinson and then took Mintz in turn four on the last go-around in exciting fashion.

Two laps later, Gregg spun bringing yellow again. Now Wimmer led Palker, Naber, Huntley and Kane. Middaugh spun on the restart. On lap six, Palker took the point and began to leave the pack behind. With just two laps to go, Palker spun by himself in turn two on the dry surface ending a great run.
Wimmer led Huntley, Naber, Kane and a surging Martin back to a green, white, checker finish. Wimmer slowed in turn three coming for the checker, allowing the four behind him to transfer, including winner, Huntley.

A main (started): 1. Blaney (6) 2. Lynch (3) 3. Mayes (4) 4. Wilson (8) 5. Paulus (1) 6. May (13) 7. Huntley (12) 8. Kinser (11) 9. Clark (22) 10. Stenhouse (7) 11. Meyers (15) 12. B. Martin (24) 13. Chaney took the point early before losing it to Lynch on lap two of the 40 lapper. Contact between Naber and another machine on lap three brought caution and sent Naber pitside with frontend problems. On the restart second running Chaney spun and collected 6th running Blonde, taking both out of the race. Now Lynch led Mayes, Paulus, Blaney and McMahan back to green. Lynch checked out in another zip code before a lap ten stoppage for a 5th running McMahan, who appeared to have rear end woes. Now Lynch’s lead came over Mayes, Paulus, Blaney and a surging Huntley. Lynch dominated the next ten circuits before J. Martin went over the turn one berm. Lynch’s lead now was over dueling Mayes and Blaney, Paulus and Wilson. The remaining half of the race went non-stop as Lynch again built what seemed to be an unbeatable advantage. Blaney thought otherwise and began to gain ground on lap 35 when Lynch approached traffic. He made his exciting winning move on lap 37 and never looked back. Through the dust clouds, Clark was spotted as the hard-charger, moving up 13 spots.
