Jack Dover won Saturday at Off Road Raceway with the Nebraska 360 Sprint SeriesJack Dover won Saturday at Off Road Raceway with the Nebraska 360 Sprint Series The Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprint Series made their debut at the new Off Road Speedway in Norfolk, NE last night.  A massive crowd was on hand at the 1/3 mile semi-banked oval east of Norfolk as 24 cars checked into the pits for the evening’s event.  The area received several inches of rain the night before which made for a very fast and tacky track.

Joey Danley led the field to the green flag in heat race #1.  Jordan Boston held the upper hand to take the lead going into turn #1.  Cody Ledger almost took a tumble as he lifted his car a few feet off of the ground on lap #5 in turn #1 but was able to regain control and continue.  Jordan Boston held onto the lead for 10 laps with Joey Danley and Jason Danley rounding out the top 3.

The “local boy” and veteran, Seth Brahmer, was your pole sitter in heat race #2.  Jack Dover gained a position in turn #1 to move to the second spot.  The hunt was on for the Home Pride & Certified Transmission car #53 as he tried to chase down Seth Brahmer.  Ten laps were not enough for Dover as he finished 2nd to Brahmer as John Klabunde followed.
T.J. Artz of Lincoln, NE brought the field of heat race #3 to the green flag.  Dusty Ballenger held his momentum in turn #2 to overtake Artz.  Racing remained single file and caution free for 10 laps as Ballenger took the checkers.  T.J. Artz  and Eric Lutz rounded out the top 3 positions.

The 12 lap B feature saw 8 cars battle for the 4 transfer positions.  Josh Riggins of Lincoln, NE was your pole sitter.  Riggins held onto his lead as the field came to a caution as Brant O”Banion slowed on the backstretch on lap #2.  One lap later the #7 of Shane Sundquist and  #42 of Greg Schuetz got together sending Sundquist to the pits.  Josh Riggins powered his 14J to the checkers with Ryan Bickett, Taylor Forbes, and Rick Hansen moving into the A main.

The Speedway Motors A main featured 20 of the midwest’s best 360 sprint car drivers.  The field was led to the green flag by Seth Brahmer of Norfolk but Joey Danley overtook the 13v of Brahmer to take the lead in turn 1.  With 3 laps down, Danley gained a half a straight away lead over 2nd place running Billy Alley.  Dover ran 3rd who was on the hunt of the Ironwood Builders car #3 of Alley.  By lap #10, Danley’s lead was shortened by 2 car lengths as Alley was in hot pursuit with Dover on his tail.  On lap #12, T.J. Artz slowed in turn 4 to bring out the first caution of the night.  On lap #14, the “Gas Man”, Jack Dover took the 2nd spot from Alley and all of the action was focused on Danley and Dover.  Dover took over the lead on lap #17 to gun his #53 Home Pride and Certified Transmission sprint car to the win!
