Brian Brown - Cedar Lake Bound!

Tuesday, July 5, 2016
(Bill W) July 5, 2016 – Brian Brown and the Casey’s General Stores/FVP #21 team are looking to get back on track with a two-night show at Cedar Lake Speedway near New Richmond, Wisconsin Friday and Saturday.  The “FVP Outlaws at Cedar Lake” will feature the National Sprint League as well for Friday’s event.  Last Friday night, the Grain Valley, Missouri driver had an uncharacteristic race at the Knoxville Raceway, finishing twelfth.  Saturday’s event at the “Sprint Car Capital of the World” washed out.

Knoxville started solid on Friday when you timed in fourth quick.

Qualifying went pretty well.  We went out early.  We were still off a little from Davey (Heskin).

You had a tough heat lineup and finished fourth.

The heat was a little different feel than we have had all year.  We were really tight.  The track was pretty narrow at that point, but fifth to fourth put us in a good spot for the A.

You started sixth in the feature.  How did it go?

We didn’t make very good decisions on the car as a team prior to the A.  I didn’t make very many good laps as a driver.  Add those up and you get a bad performance.

You have a big event with FVP and the World of Outlaws in Wisconsin this weekend.

We’re looking forward to getting back over to Cedar Lake on Friday and Saturday.  FVP’s corporate headquarters is only one hour away and they will be bringing customers and employees this weekend.  That’s always cool to race close to their home base.

What is your outlook on the weekend?

We’ve been strong there in the past, but been bad there also.  So, hopefully, things go well for us this weekend.  The boys, Chad, Michael, Wyatt and Mitch have been busting their butts to make sure we unload fast cars and I hope Friday is no different.

Associate Marketing Partner of the Week – Tru-Square

Just attach TRU-SQUARE to the rear-end and the chassis.  The rear-end is moved into position by adjusting the length of the TRU-SQUARE tools.  Once the rear-end is in position, TRU-SQUARE holds it in place while you time the birdcages and hook up the rod and torsion arms.  Not only will TRU-SQUARE save you time aligning your rear-end, but with the rear-end firmly secured in position, you can also work on other parts of the car at the same time, without fear of knocking the rear-end out of square.  TRU-SQUARE’s centering tool allows you to install a rear-end in a chassis without being hooked up to a motor plate.  This is helpful when setting up an extra chassis before heading to the track.  Visit them online at www.Tru-Square.com!
