West Coast News and Notes from July 8-9th weekend

Back in 1998 Fred Brownfield started NW Speedweek and here we are 19 years later still running Speedweek every July. This year there were 6 Races in 7 Days at 6 different Tracks. During the first 10 years the average car count for Speedweek was over 50, but this year was a different story only two of the races were there more than 20 cars and that was 33 at Cottage Grove and Willamette Speedway. Both of those races were the best of the week with great slide jobs and terrific racing with the hottest driver on the west coast Cory Eliason winning at Willamette in a great late race pass on Jason Solwold. We had five different winners with only Roger Crockett winning twice. Even with the small car count the racing was great and it was another terrific Speedweek.
