Josh is happy with the way things are going heading towards August.  “We’ve definitely been passing some racecars,” he says.  “It’s been pretty good as of late.  I think we’re about the only car consistently moving forward there.  It’s just too bad we’re not starting fifth and then doing it.”

To start up front, he knows that timing in the top ten is a must.  “We’re qualifying o.k.,” says Josh.  “We’re not completely out to lunch.  We want to be just a little better, and we’re working hard to do that.  We can’t quite put our finger on it right now.”

Once the feature starts, there is nothing to worry about.  Josh has been making charges every week.  “The car has been really nice,” he says.  “The last couple of weeks, the track has actually gotten faster.  The humidity in the air has actually come back to the track a little bit.  It’s almost been too fast come feature time.  When it slicks off, we’re even better.”

It did just that when he scored his podium finish after starting twelfth.  “It was really slick on the 9th,” says Josh.  “A couple more laps, and I really think we could have had something for them.  Two weeks ago, the track was a little too good.  Saturday, the track was pretty good as well.  We were able to go from 13th to eighth, and when you look through the field, there may have been only a couple others that were able to do that.”

Josh knows that things will be ramping up from here through the Knoxville Nationals.  “The competition is only going to get better,” he says.  “We’re going to drop in our big motor this weekend, and see if we can do just a little bit better.”
