Heat one (started): 1. Joey Moughan 8H (2) 2. Ronny Howard 44 (1) 3. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. 40R (10) 4. Wade Oliver 0 (4) 5. Brad Welborn 17w (3) 6. Jerry Bell 85 (6) 7. Paul S?des 11J (9) 8. Chris Shirek 1s (7) 9. Jim Bowden 15B (5) 10. Jesse Hockett 75 (8)

The top forty in passing points from the 10 lap heats moved on to the qualifiers. Moughan and R. Howard were in a dead heat after the first circuit, but Moughan took over for good on lap two. Bowden spun into the infield tires in turn four on the sixth lap. Hockett had moved up to fifth, but contacted the infield tires, breaking his front end on the restart. A second try at a restart saw Shirek stop in turn four. When the race finally went green again, Moughan led R. Howard, Oliver, Welborn and Stenhouse. Stenhouse took advantage of the restart and moved up two spots to finish third after passing Oliver in the final corner.

Heat two (started): 1. Jan Howard 46 (1) 2. Nick Smith 15s (3) 3. Brian Brown 21 (7) 4. Tim Montgomery 01 (5) 5. Dex Eaton 59 (2) 6. Preston Peebles II 11P (10) 7. Mitch Runge 28 (6) 8. Josh Baker 42s (8) 9. Robert Bell 71 (4) 10. Eric Lutz 5L (9)

Ja. Howard led flag to flag, but there was plenty of action behind him. On lap three, T. Montgomery and Eaton came together, with Montgomery stopping. The restart saw Ja. Howard leading Smith, Eaton, Runge and B. Brown. B. Brown would surge forward after battles with Runge and then Eaton. He then had to hold off T. Montgomery, who had come fromteh rear to claim fourth.

Heat three (started): 1. Shane Stewart 14x (10) 2. Kenny Taylor 66 (3) 3. Garry Bell 32 (9) 4. Sam Hafertepe Jr. 15H (8) 5. Stephen Chevallier 94c (6) 6. Lyle Howey III 55 (5) 7. Clint Garner 40G (4) 8. Kevin Swindell 1 (7) 9. Chris Morgan 7c (1) 10. Don Young 11Y (2)

Morgan held a solid lead before stopping with mechanical problems on lap five. D. Young assumed the lead ahead of Taylor, Swindell, Garner and S. Stewart. One lap later it was Garner who spun. On lap seven, Swindell was working on a pass of D. Young, when the two came together and spun. S. Stewart was the benefactor of the incident, taking over the point ahead of Taylor, G. Bell, Hafertepe and Morgan from the back of the pack.

Heat four (started): 1. AG Rains 3 (4) 2. Lewis Jenkins Jr. 1J (9) 3. Garry Lee Maier 11x (7) 4. Chad Jones 40 (8) 5. Kent Buckley 1* (1) 6. Donny Howard 44D (3) 7. Jason Sides 7 (6) 8. Travis Rilat 29 (2) 9. Josh Lofton 4x (5)

Rilat shot out to a lead from the front row. On lap four, Lofton spun into the infield, bringing a caution. Rilat had broken something in the left front and was black-flagged. He didnt agree with the decision and took a lap at speed to show he could run before exiting peacefully. Rains led Buckley, J. Sides and Meier back to green flag racing. L. Jenkins used the restart to hit the high side and rocketed into second in the last six laps. J. Sides exited with front end problems on lap seven.

Heat five (started): 1. Mike Ward 88 (5) 2. Marshall Skinner 26 (3) 3. Jimmy Hurley 4H (8) 4. Kent Lewis Jr. 21T (4) 5. Wade Nygaard 9x (9) 6. Andy Goin 77 (7) 7. Travis Jenkins 4am (6) 8. Louie Carufel 47x (1) 9. Skip Wilson 65 (2)

Skinner, Carufel and Wilson tried to go three-wide down the backstretch to start the contest. Wilson was the loser and ended up upside down. He retired. Carufel shot out to a lead early when green flew again. Skinner was pressuring the leader on lap three, when Carufel spun it. Skinner led Ward, a surging Hurley, Lewis and Nygaard back to green. Ward took over three laps later and held off Skiner before a final caution for a stopped Nygaard on lap nine.

Heat six (started): 1. Sean McClelland 1x (3) 2. Darren Stewart 91 (5) 3. Pete Butler 29H (7) 4. Kevin Ramey 7m (2) 5. Dusty Ballenger 2L (8) 6. Scott Winters R19 (1) 7. Joe Young 12T (4) 8. Mark Huddleston 33 (6) DNS Sean Jones 5

McClelland grabbed the lead from the front row starters and led the distance in the non-stop event. Butler put on a nice charge from row four, finishing third.

Heat seven (started): 1. Wayne Johnson 14AJ (2) 2. Tony Bruce Jr. 18 (4) 3. Toby Brown 61a (1) 4. Steven Tiner 87JR (5) 5. Raymond Stull 21R (8) 6. Jerrod Hull 50 (9) 7. Josh Howard 45 (7) 8. Bennie Chesteen 11T (3) 9. Scott Box 40x (6)

W. Johnson outdueled T. Brown on lap one and never looked back.

Heat eight (started): 1. Joey Montgomery 21c (3) 2. John Carney II 13m (2) 3. Cody Gardner 1G (4) 4. Robbie Standridge 12x (6) 5. Eric Schrock 86 (7) 6. Tim Moss 29m (5) 7. Nathan Benson 42 (1) 8. Adam Mason B29 (8) 9. Hunter Schuerenberg 35 (9)

Schuerenberg and Mason were done after Hunter spun and collected Mason. One lap, led by J. Montgomery was in the books at the time. Schrock spun on lap three. J. Montgomery led Carney, Gardner, Standridge and Moss back to the green. Not much changed the last seven laps.

Heat nine (started): 1. Ernie Ainsworth 94A (3) 2. Bill Brian Jr. 00 (1) 3. Dale Howard 47 (8) 4. Tim Crawley 87 (9) 5. Eric Sandage 60 (5) 6. Bryce Vowan 2m (7) 7. Jake Peters 57x (6) 8. Claud Estes III 74E (2) 9. Scott Bolden 18c (4)

Brian grabbed the early advantage, but couldnt hold off a rim-riding Ainsworth on lap three. The track was widening with the cushion about two feet off the top of the track and the bottom staying tacky. Crawley was the man on the move after starting on the tail, but he fell just short of passing Da. Howard for third at the line.

Last Chance Race #1 (started): 1. Eaton (2) 2. Schrock (1) 3. Hockett (11) 4. Vowan (3) / 5. Baker (7) 6. Jo. Howard (6) 7. Do. Howard (4) 8. Huddleston (8) 9. Garner (5) 10. Bowden (9) 11. Wilson (10)

The top four finishers in the 12 lap Last Chance events transferred to the back of the qualifiers. Schrock shot out from the pole early. D. Howard spun on lap three. Schrock led Eaton, Vowan, Garner, Jo. Howard and Hockett back to the green. Three laps later, Garner asserted himself on the high side and shot to the point on lap six. Disaster struck when Garner slowed to a stop on lap even. Schrock assumed the lead again, but Eaton was using the low side well and took the lead for good on lap eight. Hockett came on late and won a nice battle with Vowan for third to complete a nice run.

Last Chance Race #2 (started): 1. Swindell (7) 2. Buckley (2) 3. J. Bell (3) 4. Winters (4) / 5. Chevallier (1) 6. Chesteen (8) 7. R. Bell (9) 8. Lutz (11) 9. Benson (6) DQ J. Sides (5, crossed 1st), Box (10, crossed 5th)

J. Sides led flag to flag despite two stoppages, but missed the scales. Box crossed fifth and would have gotten a transfer, but also missed the scales. This gave transfers to J. Bell and Winters. Winters had been black-flagged on lap eight. Lutz shot over the top of turn two with two to go, but no caution was needed.

Last Chance Race #3 (started): 1. Rilat (7) 2. Hull (1) 3. Peters (6) 4. Sandage (2) / 5. P. Sides (3) 6. Moss (4) 7. D. Young (10) 8. Mason (8) 9. Morgan (9) 10. T. Jenkins (5) DNS Schuerenberg

Sandage jumped out early, but was headed by Hull on the third go-around. A lap later, Moss did a 360 trying to avoid P. Sides, who was doing the same. Moss fell short and stopped bringing out a yellow. The restart saw Hull and Sandage leading Rilat, Peters and P. Sides. On lap eight, Rilat moved around Hull for the lead, but it was negated by a D. Young spin. Rilat wasted no time getting by Hull on the restart and pulled away after a nice battle.

Last Chance Race #4 (started): 1. Welborn (1) 2. J. Young (5) 3. Howey (3) 4. Estes (8) / 5. Bolden (10) 6. Carufel (7) 7. Goin (2) 8. Runge (4) 9. Shirek (6) 10. Lofton (9) DNS S. Jones

The initial try at green was ugly, as Goin failed to take off. Runge ran into the back of him breaking his front end. Shirek, Lofton and Bolden were stacked up and all got upside down. Bolden was the only one to resart. Welborn led flag to flag and Bolden brought out the only other caution when he spun on lap four.

Qualifier #1 (started, *qualified for feature): 1. T. Montgomery (2*) 2. Gardner (3*) 3. W. Johnson (7*) 4. S. Stewart (10*) 5. Ainsworth (8*) 6. Hafertepe (4) 7. Eaton (11) 8. Oliver (1) 9. Schrock (12) 10. Maier (6) 11. Vowan (14) 12. Hockett (13) 13. Rains (9) 14. Taylor (5)

Oliver took a brief lead before T. Montgomery got around him and pulled away from the field. Gardner and W. Johnson were steady in their runs. Rains got over the berm on lap nine. At the time, T. Montgomery led Gardner, W. Johnson, Ainsworth, Hafertepe, Eaton and S. Stewart. S. Stewart surged forward three spots in a late explosion. The move was enough to earn him the pole for the A.

Qualifier #2 (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Swindell (12*) 2. Butler (6*) 3. Da. Howard (7*) 4. Ballenger (2) 5. C. Jones (4) 6. L. Jenkins (10*) 7. Skinner (5) 8. Nygaard (3) 9. Buckley (12) 10. Moughan (8) 11. J. Bell (13) 12. Peebles (1) 13. G. Bell (9) DNS Winters

Peebles looked solid in leading on the low side until he spun on lap nine. Butler assumed the lead ahead of Ballenger, C. Jones, Da. Howard, a marching Swindell and L. Jenkins. Swindell showed he belongs by picking his way forward and finally stealing the lead from the veteran I-30 champ on the final circuit.

Qualifier #3 (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Crawley (5*) 2. Tiner (2*) 3. Carney (4*) 4. Ja. Howard (7*) 5. Bruce (6*) 6. Rilat (11) 7. McClelland (9) 8. Hull (12) 9. T. Brown (3) 10. Ward (10) 11. Peters (13) 12. Sandage (14) 13. Lewis (1) 14. Hurley (8)

Crawley took the lead from row three almost immediately and won by nearly ? of a lap over his teammate, Tiner. A Hurley spin and exit slowed the event on lap two.

Qualifier #4 (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Ramey (1*) 2. B. Brown (7*) 3. Smith (6*) 4. R. Howard (5*) 5. D. Stewart (8*) 6. Brian (4) 7. Stenhouse (10*) 8. Stull (2) 9. J. Montgomery (9) 10. J. Young (12) 11. Estes (14) 12. Howey (13) 13. Welborn (11) DNS Standridge (3)

Ramey led flag to flag. The only caution came for debris on lap 13 (Welborns brakes), but B. Brown, who had a nice drive, had nothing for the leader.

A main (started): 1. T. Montgomery (12) 2. S. Stewart (1) 3. Swindell (4) 4. Crawley (2) 5. Butler (5) 6. B. Brown (3) 7. Ja. Howard (11) 8. Smith (9) 9. Gardner (13) 10. Bruce (19) 11. Stenhouse (17) 12. D. Stewart (14) 13. Tiner (18) 14. Ramey (16) 15. Ainsworth (10) 16. Carney (15) 17. Da. Howard (7) 18. R. Howard (20) 19. L. Jenkins (8) 20. W. Johnson (6)

S. Stewart led early, but fellow front row starter, Crawley, was in hot pursuit. Crawley took the advantage on the high side completing lap six and held in until lap 10. S. Stewart came back strong and was leading on lap 14 when L. Jenkins got over the turn four berm and rolled over. W. Johnson, who was running fifth, exited with mechanical problems under red flag conditions. L. Jenkins restarted, but pulled off two laps later. Swindell had asserted himself and was now by Crawley for second, showing the moves of a veteran. He held the place position until a lap 23 spin for Da. Howard. T. Montgomery was now a presence, running his patented I-30 Middle Groove Magic. He started third on the restart, but quickly disposed of Swindell and set his sights on S. Stewart. In dramatic fashion he shot by Stewart coming out of turn two on the final lap with the crowd on its feet, to claim victory. S. Stewart and Swindell joined him in being locked into Saturday nights dash.
