ASCS - Midwest

19 cars

Heat one (started): 1. Todd Frisbie 38 (2) 2. Tim Newman 18v (1) 3. Kerry Grabill 2G (4) 4. Billy Alley 1m (5) 5. Mitchell Moore 2D (7) 6. Jay Russell 76 (3) 7. Randy Hibbs 2A (6)

On the start, Hibbs made heavy contact with the frontstretch wall and went off on the hook. He would return for the feature. Moore was caught up in the mess, but continued sans nose wing. The track was lightning fast with lap times around the 12 second mark on the high-banked 1/3 mile surface. Frisbie led the distance in a mostly single-file affair.

Heat two (started): 1. Johnny Anderson 7a (3) 2. Frankie Heimbaugh 04 (1) 3. Dustin Selvage 7 (2) 4. Eric Jobe 23 (4) 5. Jesse Hockett 75 (6) 6. Chris Morgan 7c (5)

Heimbaugh led throughout the eight lapper until his cousin, Anderson took over on the last circuit. Selvage, whose sister is engaged to Heimbaugh, completed the family's top three effort.

Heat three (started): 1. Jon Corbin 33 (2) 2. Brian Brown 21 (4) 3. Jim Cameron 96c (1) 4. Toby Chapman 84 (6) 5. Rick Ideus 3R (3) 6. Curtis Evans 1P (5)

Corbin held off Brown in another lightning fast "all in the family" finish. Evans is also related to the pair. Not much passing in the heats. Chapman was filling in for Chris Roseland, who usually pilots the 84.

A main (started): 1. Anderson (1) 2. Brown (4) 3. Frisbie (2) 4. Grabill (7) 5. Cameron (9) 6. Alley (11) 7. Corbin (3) 8. Chapman (10) 9. Hockett (14) 10. Ideus (15) 11. Moore (12) 12. Jobe (13) 13. Evans (18) 14. Russell (16) 15. Hibbs (19) 16. Morgan (17) 17. Newman (5) 18. Heimbaugh (6) 19. Selvage (8)

Anderson shot out to an early advantage in the 25 lapper, as Selvage pulled off on lap four, and Heimbaugh flipped while running in the top five on lap five. Heimbaugh was taken in for observation after complaining of back pain. Anderson led Brown, who had just taken second from Frisbie, Grabill and Corbin back to green flag racing. Five more laps were in the book when Newman bicycled up turn two and slammed the wall. He retired to the pit area. Brown had nothing for Anderson as the 7a was hooked up and hauling. The final stoppage came when Morgan slowed and retired on lap 20. Anderson led Brown, Frisbie, Grabill and Cameron back to green flag racing and that's the way they would finish.
