Sammy Swindell (3rd car out to time) set the standard in time trials with a lap of 11.07 seconds around the banked 3/8 mile oval. Chad Meyer (19th car out) was second quick, followed by Dusty Zomer (17th), Justin Henderson (12th), Kevin Swindell (4th), Tim St. Arnold (7th), Gary DeWall (22nd), Mark Dobmeier (6th), Bill Alley (20th) and John VanDenBerg (9th). 100 pts. was awarded to quick timer, 99 to second quick, 98 to third and so on. Completely inverted 10 lap heats awarded 100 pts. to the winner, 97 for second, 94 for third, and so on. The feature was lined up with an invert of 10 according to points.

Heat one (started): 1. Steve Ballenger 53 (4) 2. S. Swindell 5 (8) 3. Kenny Hansen 4 (3) 4. Henderson D11 (7) 5. Chuck McGillivray 101 (2) 6. DeWall 16 (6) 7. VanDenBerg 7x (5) 8. Bill Smith 33 (1)

McGillivray took the early lead before Ballenger took command on lap two. Two laps later, the yellow flew for a spun VanDenBerg. At the time, Ballenger led McGillivray, Hansen, Henderson and S. Swindell. S. Swindell turned up the heat and on lap 8 and passed both McGillivray and Henderson to move into third with a sly move on the low side. A pass of Hansen solidified third and as a result the high point total for the night.

Heat two (started): 1. Alley 22 (5) 2. Gregg Bakker 11x (4) 3. John Miller 24m (2) 4. Zomer 1z (7) 5. Robert Bell 71 (1) 6. St. Arnold 7w (6) 7. Seth Brahmer 13x (3) 8. Dusty Wasmund 3L (8)

Miller took the early advantage. Alley had it working well and was quickly into third. After narrowly avoiding disaster after contact with Bell, Alley went on and made his winning pass at the halfway mark. Bakker came back late to make a last lap pass for second.

Heat three (started): 1. Jake Peters 57x (4) 2. John Lambertz 12L (3) 3. Dobmeier 13 (5) 4. K. Swindell 1K (6) 5. Jesse Drost 27 (1) 6. Meyer 1w (7) 7. Mike Moore 69 (2)

Peters led flag to flag. Moore spun against the wall at the completion of lap one and was done. Meyer spun after contact battling with K. Swindell on lap five. On the restart he ran up the rear end of K. Swindell entering turn three and flipped. Ironically, his sixth place finish would leave him 10th in points and on the pole of the feature.

A main (started): 1. Meyer (1) 2. K. Swindell (4) 3. Alley (9) 4. Bakker (2) 5. Dobmeier (3) 6. S. Swindell (10) 7. Peters (8) 8. Zomer (7) 9. Henderson (6) 10. DeWall (13) 11. Ballenger (5) 12. Lambertz (11) 13. St. Arnold (12) 14. Hansen (14) 15. McGillivray (17) 16. Brahmer (19) 17. Drost (18) 18. Miller (17) 19. Bell (20) 20. Smith (22) 21. VanDenBerg (16) 22. Wasmund (23) 23. Moore (21)

Meyer grabbed the early lead in the 30 lapper and was never really challenged. The battle for second on back was torrid, however. After a St. Arnold spin and a stoppage for debris on lap two, the rest of the event went non-stop. Bakker chased Meyer for most of the event, but he was quickly under pressure from Dobmeier, K. Swindell and then Alley. Three-wide action was the norm on the dry-slick surface. Alleys charge came late as he dropped out of the top ten briefly, but came storming back, hugging the infield berm to move up in position. Meyer was masterful in traffic as K. Swindell and Alley tried to reel him in late. They ran out of laps and Meyers win paid him $8000.

Wasmund led flag to flag in the 8 lapper. Rosenboom and a charging Schliemann put on a nice show for second with Rosenboom holding on to the spot.

Heat two (started): 1. Dusty Ballenger 2D (2) 2. Brent Vonk 21v (1) 3. Cody Hansen 4 (4) 4. Justin Jacobsma 10x (6) 5. Mitch Runge 28 (7) / 6. Randy Droescher 24 (5) 7. Troy Vink 77 (3)

Bickett took the early advantage and held it until Dobesh stopped after moving up into third on lap six. Nelson had already retired. Bickett held on for the win.

Make-up A main (started): 1. S. Ballenger (1) 2. Rokusek (2) 3. Peterson (4) 4. Schliemann (11) 5. Runge (5) 6. Wasmund (7) 7. Vonk (6) 8. Hanssen (9) 9. Drost (13) 10. Hansen (12) 11. Droescher (8) 12. J. Martens (10) 13. D. Ballenger (14) 14. Rosenboom (3) 15. Reilly (15)

S. Ballenger took the early lead in the 18 lapper. By the halfway point, Schliemann was on the move and took over sixth. A three-way battle for second developed between Rokusek, Peterson and Rosenboom the last half of the race. The three approached the leader as Doug Clark showed his white flag. Rosenboom flipped hard into the turn one catch fence, bringing things to a halt and setting up a green, white, checkered finish. Rosenboom was uninjured. S. Ballenger led Rokusek, Peterson, Schliemann and Runge back to green flag racing. Peterson quickly moved into second, but lost the spot when he hit the wall in turn four coming for the checkered flag. He recovered for third, while Schliemann took hard-charger honors. S. Ballenger would have to return to the track after winning the feature to run a B.

B main (started): 1. S. Ballenger (1) 2. Droescher (2) 3. Dobesh (6) / 4. Vink (4) 5. Nelson (7) 6. Krueger (5) 7. D. Martens (3)

S. Ballenger took his third checkered flag of the night in a mostly single-file affair. One stoppage occurred when D. Martens stopped and retired on lap two.

A main (started): 1. Hanssen (13) 2. Schliemann (12) 3. Drost (2) 4. Wasmund (3) 5. D. Ballenger (5) 6. Bickett (11) 7. Hansen (9) 8. Runge (14) 9. Rokusek (7) 10. J. Martens (15) 11. Jacobsma (10) 12. Reilly (4) 13. Peterson (1) 14. Droescher (17) 15. Dobesh (18) 16. S. Ballenger (16) 17. Vonk (6) 18. Rosenboom (8)

Rosenboom patched his damaged sprinter together, elected to start at the rear and exited immediately. Vonk joined him at the tail and also pulled off early. Drost took the early advantage before Dobesh spun on lap three of 18. Drost led Peterson, Reilly, Wasmund and D. Ballenger back to green flag racing. Reilly moved under Peterson for second behind Drost, when on lap 11, Peterson stopped with a flat left rear. He was unable to change it in time in what was becoming a race of attrition. Drost led Reilly, Wasmund, a charging Hanssen and D. Ballenger back to green with seven laps to go. Reilly slowed and pulled off with motor ills two laps later. Hanssen hit the high side and blew around Drost on lap 15. One lap later, Jacobsma slowed with a packed right rear. He rejoined the field at the tail. Hanssen led Drost, a charging Schliemann, Wasmund and D. Ballenger with three to go. Hanssen held on for his first 360 win at Husets in 2005. His charge earned him hard-charger honors.
