Josh Schneiderman - Still in One Piece

Thursday, June 28, 2018
Des Moines, IA (June 28, 2018) – “There was only one real positive after Saturday night, and that was that we were able to roll the car into the hauler all in one piece,” said Josh Schneiderman after a rough showing at the Knoxville Raceway last Saturday night. After a week of battling a virus and still dealing with some sickness on race night, “The Professor” and the Deuce Motorsports team are looking to rebound with a strong showing this weekend when the World of Outlaws come to Knoxville for Brownells Big Gun Bash!

The World of Wheels #49 began last Saturday with a good pill draw for qualifying, but a driver that was still feeling the effects of a week of being under the weather. “Honestly, I didn’t start feeling back to normal until this Monday,” said Josh. “I was still dealing with some dizziness and lightheadedness at the track on Saturday, so it made a rough night that much worse.”

Schneiderman timed in 15th fast and found himself starting on the outside of the front row in his heat race. “We had a good starting spot in our heat, but the inside row got the jump and we were playing catch-up by the time we got to turn one,” said Josh. “The car didn’t feel too bad in qualifying and in our heat, but we ended up fourth in the heat and left us starting deep in the A-main.”

During preparations for the night’s main event, Josh believed that the team let their minds get the best of them. “We made all the wrong decisions for the A,” said Josh. “We tightened the car up way too much and I really couldn’t do much with it on the track. Some stuff we did, we know better than to do; we definitely just overthought it Saturday.”

While it wasn’t a good night for Schneiderman and the Deuce Motorsports team at Knoxville, another event in the Sprint Car world put things in perspective. “It was a rough night for us, but hearing about the loss of Jason Johnson makes one appreciate even a bad night that you can walk away from,” said Josh.

Josh and all of the Deuce Motorsports team would like to send their thoughts and prayers to Bobbi and Jaxx Johnson, and all of the Jason Johnson Racing family. “I wasn’t all that close with Jason personally, but we’re all part of one big racing family,” said Josh. “Regardless of how well you know an individual, it still hits you hard to see something happen like that and we just want to continue to keep his family in our prayers.”

The Deuce Motorsports team has a big weekend ahead, with two nights of racing with the World of Outlaws at the Knoxville Raceway on Friday and Saturday night! Depending on how the weekend goes, Josh might be taking the Universal Therapy Group #49 south to Randolph County Speedway in Moberly, Missouri on Tuesday night for a shot at $5,000-to-win.
