Sick of the rain in PA that caused the weekend at Williams Grove to be postponed, I put in a 13-hour drive to Farmington (sort of on the way home).  It was well worth it.  A one-lane track in Friday’s prelim yielded to heavier conditions and multiple grooves.  The track here is unique, heading uphill into turn three and back down the frontstretch.  The track has a “D” shape as well, and probably yields only to Williams Grove in its uniqueness and advantage to locals.

Parker Price-Miller (17th car out to time) set quick time at 11.728 seconds on the unique 3/8-mile oval.  Kraig Kinser (8th car out) was second quick, followed by Howard Moore (5th), Ian Madsen (10th), Shane Golobic (18th), Jerrod Hull (3rd), Brian Brown (35th), Tim Montgomery (16th), Andy McElhannon (7th) and Jimmy Hurley (28th).  Adam Parmeley had front-end issues and needed a tow in hot laps.  He returned to record on lap of time trials.

Heat one (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Robbie Standridge 17* (1) 2. Kent Buckley 87 (3*) 3. Danny Lasoski 2 (4*) 4. Price-Miller 2x (6*) 5. Hull 12 (5*) 6. Steve Short 10K (7) 7. Jeff Masson 15* (8) 8. Jimmy Bridgeman 14T (2)

Eight lap heat finish points were added to qualifying points, sending the top 16 in points to the A.  Standridge led this one early over Buckley and Bridgeman.  Lasoski disposed of Bridgeman on the second lap to take third.  Hull moved into fourth on lap three, but Price-Miller took the spot after a restart for a stopped Bridgeman on lap three.

Heat two (started, #qualified for feature): 1. Dakota Hendrickson 10x (1) 2. Craig Dollansky 2KS (3*) 3. Jason Keith 28 (2) 4. Kraig Kinser 11K (6*) 5. Brown 21 (5*) 6. Joey Moughan 29 (4) 7. Jacob Patton 79J (7) 8. Adam Parmaley 21P (8)

Hendrickson led the distance.  Keith ran second early, followed by Moughan and Dollansky.  Dollansky grabbed third on lap two, and second from Keith on lap four.

Heat three (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Tommy Worley Jr. 97 (2) 2. T. Montgomery 32 (5*) 3. Kevin Petty 72 (4*) 4. Moore 40 (6*) 5. Ryan Kempin 2K (3) 6. John Epperson 606 (7) 7. Adam Carylon 44T (8) 8. Dustin Adams 3 (1)

A three-wide party heading into turn three to start this one did not end well.  Adams and Kempin got sideways, collecting Carylon.  Worley led the distance pulling away, once the green came.  T. Mongeomery took third from Petty on lap two.  Kempin recovered from the tail to finish fifth.

Heat four (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Tasker Phillips 7w (2) 2. Kory Bales 5 (3*) 3. Dustin Homan 10 (1) 4. I. Madsen 18 (6*) 5. McElhannon 42 (5*) 6. Hunter Schuerenberg 20N (4) 7. Carl Finder 360 (7)

Schuerenberg did a wheelie and made contact with McElhannon, damaging the nose win of the 20N.  Homan led Phillips and Bales early.  Phillips shot to the lead on the third circuit.  Schuerenberg spun, bringing out the only caution.  Bales shot to second on that restart.  Homan, who ran high and Madsen battled for superiority as well.

Heat five (started): 1. Joey Montgomery 35c (4*) 2. Golobic 17w (6*) 3. Hurley 35 (5*) 4. Cory Bruns 42B (2) 5. Scottie Gretzmacher 16G (1) 6. George Crawford 57 (7) 7. Logan Faucon 52F (3)

Gretzmacher took an early lead over McElhannon and J. Montgomery.  A spin by Faucon slowed things.  Hurley and Golobic had a nice battle going for fourth.  On the restart, J. Montgomery jumped to second, while Golobic snuck into fourth.  J. Montgomery would take the lead for good on la six.  Golobic and Hulrey followed him into seocn and third, on a track that was yielding multiple grooves.

C main (started): 1. Epperson (1) 2. Adams (3) / 3. Patton (4) 4. Crawford (2) 5. Finder (5) 6. Masson (6) 7. Parmeley (8) 8. Carylon (7)

Epperson led the distance in the 8-lapper.  Crawford would yield the final transfer to Adams, who shot past Patton and Crawford in one move to rip the final transfer.  Patton got by Crawford for third on the last lap.

B main (started): 1. Worley (1) 2. Phillips (2) 3. Standridge (3) 4. Homan (10) / 5. Keith (5) 6. Bruns (9) 7. Hendrickson (4) 8. Kempin (8) 9. Adams (16) 10. Gretzmacher (12) 11. Faucon (11) 12. Epperson (15) 13. Short (14) 14. Bridgeman (13) 15. Schuerenberg (7) 16. Moughan (6)

The 12-lapper took four to the Queen’s Royale.  Worley led lap one over Phillips, Standridge and Hendrickson.  On the second go-around, Schuerenberg took a quick right on the backstretch that took out Moughan and sent him flipping and destroying his car.  The usually mild-mannered Moughan attempted to get at Schuerenberg, but was halted by security halfway across the infield.  Schuerenberg made repairs to his mount, but retired shortly after returning.  On the restart, Keith would snag the fourth and final transfer from Hendrickson.  Bridgeman brought the last caution out by slowing on lap four.  Homan was on the move from row five.  He used the high side to move up, and disposed of Keith on the last lap.

A main (started): 1. Golobic (5) 2. Price-Miller (6) 3. I. Madsen (2) 4. Brown (10) 5. Kinser (4) 6. Lasoski (11) 7. J. Montgomery (9) 8. Buckley (12) 9. Standridge (19) 10. Dollansky (15) 11. Worley (17) 12. Hull (7) 13. Homan (20) 14. McElhannon (13) 15. Phillips (18) 16. Petty (14) 17. Bales (16) 18. T. Montgomery (1) 19. Moore (3) 20. Hurley (8)

The 30-lapper started slowly.  T. Montgomery was the early leader over I. Madsen and Golobic.  Price-Miller banged the cushion to take third from Golobic.  The pair exchanged the spot no less than three times.  On lap 10, I. Madsen used a little higher groove to take the lead.  Golobic would then stick the bottom on the next lap and capture the point himself.  Hurley stopped with eleven laps in, bringing caution.  At that point, Golobic led Madsen, Price-Miller, T. Montgomery and Kinser.  The three-wide action was numerous, with some drivers hitting the cushion on the wall, and some running the low side.  Price-Miller jumped to second on the restart, but the green was short-lived, as both Moore and T. Montgomery came to a stop on lap 13.  It would prove to be the last yellow.  Golobic led the pack back to green, ahead of Price-Miller, I. Madsen, Kinser and Brown.  Brown rolled the bottom to fourth at that point.  It would take nine more laps for the leaders to hit lapped traffic, but it would prove to be the difference.  Golobic was riding low in one and two, and high in three and four, while Price-Miller banged the cushion on both ends.  On lap 23, Golobic paused behind a lapped car in turn two, and Price-Miller shot by.  The pair were nose to tail to the end, maneuvering in traffic.  On the last lap, Golobic took a chance at the low side of one and two and made it stick.  He blocked Price-Miller down the backstretch, and rode the cushion in three and four.  He emerged victorious for the $5,000 prize.  Standridge was the hard-charger.
