Say What!

“Sometimes having traffic when the track is really wide like this…I can gauge what lane I need to be running, (Without traffic) we couldn’t do that. Hopefully, we made enough of the right moves…obviously, we did when we’re standing on the front stretch. I about took the wall out in turn four there a couple laps in. That developed a bit of a vibration in the right rear. I stuck to the low side of one and two as the top became a long way around. There was moisture on the bottom. Cautions fell the right way, but I would have liked to see it go green. It’s just a pleasure every time I get in this car. I know it’s going to be prepared impeccably. I just have to do my job.”   said Paul Nienhiser in 34 Raceway IA Sprint Invaders Victory Lane.

“If you were near my trailer after Qualifying, you probably heard some choice words, so I apologize for that, It just shows the heart of this team. It’s such a double-edged razor blade somedays. We dug out of a huge hole tonight and got a win at a racetrack we typically don’t run good on. We threw two kitchen sinks at it tonight. This place is demanding, and we haven’t been to Victory Lane here in a long time and didn’t really know what the track was going to do. I just went where everybody wasn’t, and it actually felt pretty good.” Donny Schatz winning I-55 Raceway MO WoO

“I’ll be honest, it was all I had to hang onto that thing. I needed those red flags and cautions. The car was really good…I’d say I was about 50 percent. I knew we had to get going and I was trying to pick my pace and maintain for a long time. Cale (Thomas) showed me his nose wing once and got by me in traffic and luckily the caution came out and we got it back. This goes to these guys over here (his crew). I tore this thing up a couple of weeks ago and they put it back together and never gave up,” said Cap Henry in Attica OH victory lane

National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee Gene Marderness has been shooting at Dirt Tracks across America since the 60's. He has tons of great classic shots and we are going to post some here in Gene's Corner.
