Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic Night #2

The night was a long one that included fence repairs and early flips in hot laps and time trials. We mentioned Carson Macedo didn’t gain any points in time trials on Night #1 and that ruling has been rectified. Ryan Timms had a similar night, starting at the back of the heats after not getting a time in. He was given points tonight and had enough after heat charges to make the feature. The top four feature finishers would join Brock Hallett, Matt Egel, Jock Goodyer and Kerry Madsen, who locked themselves into Sunday’s $60,000 to win finale.

The 30-lapper paid $12,500, with the top four locking into Sunday’s main event. McFadden led early from pole-sitter Cole Macedo, who had a perfect score with quick time and two heat wins. Corbet trailed in third, with Kingshott and Ian Madsen following. Madsen shot by Kingshott for fourth on lap two. McFadden was lapping cars by the sixth circuit. On lap eight, Macedo was as close as he would get to making a bid. On lap 10, Reutzel entered the top five, getting by Kingshott, and then passing Madsen on lap 17 for fourth. Morgan came to a stop bringing the caution with 12 to go. McFadden led Macedo, Corbet, Reutzel and Madsen back to green. Timms had climbed from 20th to tenth. With 8 to go, Madsen attempted a tight slider on Reutzel. Contact was made, and Madsen slid into the wall. He would stop a lap later, bringing the final caution. The seven lap dash saw McFadden leading Macedo, Corbet, a charging Vaughan on the low side and Reutzel. Vaughan quickly ducked under Corbet for third. Kingshott entered the top five, but exited late. Corbet held onto the fourth lock-in spot behind winner McFadden, Macedo and Vaughan. Timms was the hard-charger, moving up to sixth.
