Over 40 cars descended on the high-banked 3/8-mile Lawrenceburg oval for round #4 of Indiana Sprint Week. Nathan Carle got upside down in hot laps, ending his night. Brennon Marshall had issues and did not get a time in qualifying. RJ Miller also did not get a time. Wyatt Burks flipped on his second lap of qualifying and didn’t return. No one was injured.
Briggs Danner (14th car out to time) set quick time at 13.839 seconds. Brady Bacon (34th car out) was second quick, followed by Mitchel Moles (42nd), Justin Grant (3rd), Kyle Cummins (36th), Jake Swanson (6th), CJ Leary (15th), Todd Hobson (28th), Kevin Thomas Jr. (2nd) and Jadon Rogers (4th). Though Thomas, who won at Kokomo last night, was ninth quick, he faltered on his second lap, and chased problems that kept him from competing the rest of the night.

8-lap heats took the top four to the feature. Ballou led the distance. Setser grabbed third early and then took second onlap two. Quick timer Danner moved from sixth to grab third by the halfway point, and Seavey grabbed the final transfer from Moule with three to go. Swanson came on late, but fell just short of getting by Seavey for a transfer.

Coons grabbed the lead early and held it throughout despite pressure from Reinbold. Leary grabbed fifth from Lewis on lap two. Bacon passed Barr for third on lap three. Leary got around Barr at the halfway point to snag the final transfer.

Abrams led early over Moles, Webber, Stevens and Hobson. Hobson shot by Stevens for fourth on lap two. Moles ran down Abrams and passed him for the lead on lap four. Stockon was shuffled back early, and came back to battle hard with Hobson for the final transfer, only to fall short.

Hoyer led early over J. Vermillion, Grant and Miller. Grant took second from Vermillion on lap two. A lap later, Miller followed him into third. Grant shot around Hoyer for the lead at the halfway point. Westerfeld, a former track champ, gained the final transfer on lap four.

Rogers led the distance, advancing from fifth to the lead on lap one. On lap two, Cummins shot from fourth to second.

The 12-lapper took the top four to the feature. Swanson led Nigh, Swanson, J. Vermillion and Stevens early. Stockon overtook Nigh for second on lap two. The lead four remained the same, but Schuerenberg climbed quickly after starting in row five. With two to go, he put a slider on Vermillion in turn four to gain the final transfer.

The 30-lapper saw Cummins leading Moles, Leary, Grant and Danner early. Bacon moved into the top five on lap two, getting by Danner. Grant slid by Leary on lap four for third. On lap five, Bacon followed Grant into fourth. Cummins entered lapped traffic on lap eight. Grant was cruising up top and found his way around Moles on lap nine. At the same time, Swanson, who started tenth, moved by Leary into the top five. The non-stop feature got intense and high-speed through traffic. Swanson got by Bacon with ten to go, and then moved into a podium spot, getting by Moles with eight to go. The drama built until lap 29, when Grant threw a serious slider on Cummins in turn one to take the lead and the win. Schuerenberg was the hard-charger.
