September 2, 2026 – After more than a month off, the Mohrfeld Solar Sprint Invaders begin a busy month of September with two shows this Labor Day weekend. On Saturday, September 5, they’ll take on the half-mile at the West Liberty Raceway in West Liberty, Iowa. The following night, Sunday, September 6, will be spent at the Quincy Raceways in Quincy, Illinois.
With five nights of the season remaining a tight point battle sees just a 29 point difference between first and fourth place. Two-time champion Cody Wehrle comes into the weekend leading Tasker Phillips by just four points. Sawyer Phillips is third, just 13 points back, and Alex Vande Voort is fourth, just 29 markers behind. Dustin Clark, Josh Scheiderman, Riley Scott, Jaden Alexander, McCain Richards and rookie Lincoln Martin complete the current top ten.
Saturday marks the seventh visit to West Liberty’s half-mile and first since 2023, when Tasker Phillips was victorious. Jesse Giannetto, Jerrod Hull, Josh Schneiderman, Matt Rogerson and Bobby Mincer have been the other victors there.
Gates open at 4 p.m. on Saturday, with hot laps scheduled for 6 p.m. Admission is $25 for adults, and $10 for Kids 5-10. IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, IMCA Sport Mods and Midwest Jalopies will also be on the card.
The Sprint Invaders will visit Quincy for the fifteenth time on Sunday. Paul Nienhiser has won the last three meetings there. Kaley Gharst is a two-time winner, and other victors there have been Ricky Logan, Matt Sutton, Jim Moughan Jr., Jerrod Hull, Chris Martin, Jon Agan, Joe B. Miller, Chase Randall and Garet Williamson.
Hot laps are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Grandstands open at 5 p.m. Sunday, with hot laps scheduled for 6 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults, Seniors are $15, Students 11-15 are $10, and 10 and under are FREE. Open Crate Late Models, DIRTcar Street Stocks, DIRTcar 4-cylinders, Crown Vics and B Mods will also be in action.
